I just wanted to say thank you sir for making these videos I have dyslexia it’s a learning disability and I’m just trying to figure out how to start cutting my own gemstones and your videos break it down where I can understand it. It’s amazing I’m watching your videos a couple of times each so I picked up a lot of pointers so far, but I just wanted to reach out and say thank you for making this tutorial here deeply appreciated. Take care and God bless.

Good luck with your faceting. One thing I did not relay in the videos. Cleanliness is next to godliness. Change rags between cutting and polishing. If you use multiple steps change between every step. Clean your cutting area and store your laps properly.

Hi Steve, great video series, I am on looking at cutting stones but wanted to use the similar method to make some faceted type marks on wood block and was interested in how the gem cutting world controlled there angles. Great work.

This is great video but the sound volume was too low. I want to learn as much as I can now that I am retired.

Hi, try to use different speakers or headphones. We're not using professional equipment to record these videos, just an iphone, so the volume can be an issue if your speaker volume does't go very high.

Hi Steve, I am a 17 yo Dutch high school student and I have a lot of interest in gem cutting and juwelry. I wished I could start learning and practicing cutting right now, but all the machines are quite a lot of money and if I would start cutting gems, on what material could I practice? Also, do you know if there is an education to become a lapidarist?

hello!! a quick question- why do you put the water drip closer to the center of the wheel instead of on the circumference/band that you are cutting on? (i am a novice at this) also do you wash your diamond cutting stone intermittently to remove any gemstone stone dust? I would imagine the gemstone dust might interfere? thank you so much. love your videos and your work

Hi Nestor from Mexico! We do not sell faceting machines, but we would recommend purchasing a machine from Ultra Tec or Facetron. Unfortunately they do not manufacture the Machine Steve is using any more.

@@Moregemshey there, I have been looking for this machine used but honestly have not seen another like it to be able to ask them either. I have a machining and mechanical engineering background so duplicating or replacing parts is definitely not a problem, so if I knew the make and model it shouldn't be an issue afterwards. thanks, Dustin Carroll

Thanks! Yea, there is alot of junk out there and I've found it difficult to find anything worth while that is used... not to say that it isn't out there, but it's just difficult to find and generally I don't recommend buying used.
