Arthur Levine thanks for sharing your experience with everyone! It’s a useful tip! I didn’t use coconut oil because it was winter and my coconut oil turned solid and I was too lazy to heat it up before using. I like how versatile jackfruit is! It can be used in a lot of different recipes. But remember if you are going to use it as a meat replacement then you have to get raw jackfruit so the taste and texture is more like meat.

If you make sure to get it when it's yellow or orange inside make sure it's right it is so sweet people say it's like me just the texture before it actually is right probably does but make sure you let her give brown brown brown on the outside then no latex it's the best Whole Food store

Thank you for this video. I see whole jackfruit in our local supermarket now (they usually only have 2 or 3 of the fruits at the most) and would like to try it. I have been reluctant because they huge and I feel like if it's not properly ripened it will be a waste of time and money. Is the sap really so sticky you can't clean it off a knife and would have to throw it away? I can't imagine that.
@LifeofLin
6 жыл бұрын
they can ripen off the tree if needed. you'll know if it's ready if you see brown spots that give slightly to pressure. I wouldn't use a "nice" knife since it'll give it wear/tear but using oil you can wash the sap off and it'll be clean!

@LifeofLin

Rachel Nunez jackfruit is very yummy and nutritious fruit to eat. If you want to cook with it make sure you use a raw jackfruit. Raw jackfruit isn’t sweet and the texture is more meat-like. I’ve been traveling a lot so I’ve been more focused on my travel vlogs, so I haven’t posted a jackfruit cooking video yet. I’m sorry for the delay. I will let you know as soon as I do post that video. Thanks for watching! 😊

@@LifeofLin I save old grease from cooking. It worked well to clean the knife and my hands. You can use the oil/grease as soap on the sponge to get off the sticky stuff. And then use soap to get the oil/grease off your knife and hands. :) I don't like using gloves. It sticks and is a hassle.
