That's so awesome. I actually just bought one today. Then I did some research on it, which I should have done first. They say they get pretty tall. So I didn't know what I was going to do when I got too tall. But now I know. 👍

I'm at a quandry, I guess this is what I'm going to have to do with mine. It's extremely health and over 6 feet tall. I'm moving to a new house and it's just too big to safely move without cutting it up. It kinda breaks my heart since I've raised it from very small.

@@dominusplantarum It's always a good idea to sterilize your saw with boiling water before cutting, otherwise you could transfer disease from other plants or trees to your Pachypodium. ;)

This contributes nothing. Your instructions are "cut it in to pieces." What about dry times? Rooting hormones? Soil to use? How much to water? Etc

Once you cut them, how long do you let the pieces sit to scab over before you plant them?
@esharke1

Anyone ever get an answer for this?
@joshuamarcus7683
4 жыл бұрын
@@esharke1 I read that it takes 4-8days. Cut, place on newspaper/paper towel so sap is absorbed so plant-end is completely dry. The room or outside area needs low humidity (below25%) and temps. above 70-80 Degrees Fahrenheit; the warmer the better. I live in Arizona so both requirements are easily met. Also heard it's better to do this in Spring.

You may lose the entire plant and its cuttings by simply cutting the trunk into several pieces. From what I have seen, they will not take root, will rot or dry out. Unfortunately nothing is answered here, the before/after pictures are of very little use in knowing what to do next after cutting.
