In part 1, Rudy demonstrates the bachata basic, and how we'll construct it from simpler movements. We dissect the basic into three major parts, corresponding to various muscle groups we use. Then, we train those individually throughout the rest of the series and eventually combine them to form the full movement of the basic body movement.
When practicing, always remember:
1. Focus on one thing at a time, don't try to do everything right all the time.
2. Get it right first, no matter how slow and small you have to go.
3. Once you're able to make the correct motions smoothly, then you can add size, speed, and styling.
