If u have it to long in and it’s turning black it’s cuz u removed the whole anodized layer, the black code comes from the copper in the alloy, u can remove the black film with nitric acid 👍 Not every aluminum part will turn black while deanodizing it depends which Aluminium it is 7000 and 2000 series aluminum will turn black all other don’t 🤓

BTW I wound not recommend to deanodize a assembled servo, if the caustic soda get into a bearing or something it will destroy it slowly over the time, the right solution is to deasamble it and give it to a anodizing company near u, they can also anodize it again for u without coloring it, with this way u don’t have to worry about future corrosion. Most company’s will do it for a few bucks if u ask them kind ✌️

Thanks. It was too simple and painless not to share. Old parts can get new life with a breeze.

Thanks for watching. You actually know the anodizing process right?

@@idealautofactory it has been a while but yes. I used to run an anodizing line at my past job. I was able to dye my car parts off the clock too 🙃 😎

Will it corrode?

Aluminum doesnt rust from what I’ve seen. It will turn black if it stays in the Lye too long though.

aluminium doesn't rust, but it does corrode. apparently salt water is real bad for it. also I think the anodizing colour depends a lot on the electrolysis process, they can't just choose what colour to anodize

@@shadyhazza the coloring of the parts always comes after the ”normal“ anodizing process, after anodizing u can choose whatever color u want, some Aluminium like 5000series don’t corrode like others even if they are not anodized.

Long story short, if u remove the oxid layer it will corrode how much depends on the aluminum series.
