How To Deadhead Roses for more blooms in your garden. The first set of blooms are now spent on my beautiful rose bush and if you just leave them now they will only form rosehips and the plant will think it’s done it’s job for the year. But if you regularly deadhead your roses, the shrub will keep on and on producing more flowers well into late Summer, and even early Autumn. Here I show you a few simple tips to show you how easy and simple it really is. Just follow the stem down to the first set of 5 leaves (which should be facing outward, and not in towards the middle of the shrub), cut at an angle 1/4” above those 5 leaves. It really is that simple.
