Katy, NEVER apologize for a longer video!! 😂 Loved ❤ this episode. I live in a 180 ft THOW (tiny house on wheels) and aspire to be a boho maximalist which I think is shunned in tiny houses. Great to see Baguette. Have a great week!

OMG thank you for the shout out, Katy!!! ❤❤❤❤❤ I loved this history and analysis episode. You reinforced what I'm doing in my own maximalist space, but you also gave me ideas! Right now I am really digging plaid. Current project: my dog's bed is too big but he wants to sleep in my tiny bedroom because he's obsessed with me. I'm selling my long dresser and going to replace with a desk and put him under the desk. I think that will save a bit more space. Great episode!!

This was great. I am a maximalist(Taurus, no brainer) first drawn to Asian (Chinese, Indonesian/Art Nouveau) while attending High School in Seattle at a time that had a real Asian vibe. Now, Boho. What a lot of work you did to present this video. I loved how you did the ideas behind the design, then the different ways to achieve it. Terrific video. Thank you. P.S Yes, animal print is a neutral.😊

It was nice to see Lisa Lampe again. I decorated an Ikea lamp after that video. I still use it every day. The cats and l turn it on before bed. I use a soft red bulb and we call it our HAPPY LIGHT. Different colored bulbs are an easy color change for a room.

I loved this video. So much eye candy. I'm hoping to decorate my living/dining area in yellow (ceiling/walls) with zebra accents, like a zebra chaise with a black and white credenza at its side. A portrait of an aristocratic zebra type will hang above it. I decorate abundantly and then pare down. I want to try vertical stripes in the corners of the room to soften the sharp corner edges.

I accidentally did the plain/pattern/plain curtains in my living room because I kept buying less than I needed for 10 feet of window space and decided to just hang it all at once, but in 2 rows, so the patterned ones slide from behind plain ones. Sofa and armchair covers are the best budget and renter friendly trick I've found. And they can be modified with tassels, dyed etc. If you have a very scratchy cat, it's good to put a thick, old blanket underneath for extra protection.

Wow...this is such a smart video. I really enjoyed learning more about maximalism. Seems I'm on trend with the reno I'm doing of my space. I've painted my kitchen cabinets oxblood and watercolour painted my couch (not perfect yet but next summer I'll do a little more to it). My space for years was grey walls with grey curtains and grey furniture...no joke...I just decided one day that I needed my home to feel alive.

Baguette: “As long as the sofa is comfortable for a cat to sleep on Madame, I am not concerned with the aesthetics.” LOVED the history lesson and tutorial! Also love the fur jacket hack - many of my friends have inherited fur coats from moms and grandmas (because fur coats were common winter wear in Canada into the ‘70s) and don’t know what to DO with them - we wouldn’t buy a fur coat nowadays, but we feel bad about donating Grandma’s.

I call myself a Minimalist Maximalist! Just like at 7:21! True neutral White Walls with an absolute cacophony of rainbow art and furniture, And the most important part being that it's easy to clean! I love being a maximalist but I am neurodivergent and I just can't dust everything so having a room filled with things to the brim that require constant dusting never worked for me. I absolutely love eclectic style and I love really ornate stuff but oh my gosh. The dusting. The way dirt will settle into every every single crevice of an ornate Victorian trim. 😅
@LaughCryDIY
Күн бұрын
Haha. That’s very true. It’s why you have to be a ghost to appreciate full Victorian maximalism 😂 And I do totally understand the overwhelm of it all. I think we need more mediumalist content to fill the void. I also always assumed I’d color drench my next place, but the crisp white with bold pops is really enticing.

@@LaughCryDIY It allows for so much flexibility to change everything, You would never know my walls are a (sad when alone) true neutral gray because they're too happy when covered with art! Marvelous video!!! I have ADHD, and I am DEFINITELY a maximalist. My brain is always searching for stimulation, and being surrounded by colorful, interesting things gives me a little hit of dopamine with just a glance.
