a couple more tips: 1. aim to reach for your tricep, not your bicep. Your wrist is in a stronger position to connect to the side of the neck when you hand is reaching farther across your own arm. 2. when you're in front headlock and their choking arm tries to wrap around your side instead of them letting it cross their center line (to try to defend the choke) I tend to hit my back to the mat instead of breaking them down with a 3/4 nelson. When you lock up the d'arce this way, you tend to have an easier time getting that arm off your side and across their center line as you walk your hips down it forces their arm across.

Just stumbled across your Channel. Really like your way of explaining things and slowing it down with an explanation of the sequence, weight distribution, control and finishing mechanics. Find this a lot easier than sitting through an instructional. I’m a year in at blue belt so been focussing on more details in the moves I use as my go to. Nice one!.

Great video! I been teaching Darce in fundamentals class this last week. 1 detail I picked up from watching high level guys is when I go to lock the RNC grip for the darce, I slide A hand wrist against B hands wrist as I punch the locking hand to the feet to make sure I don't get too shallow of a grip on my tiny bicep and fail to control the head where they pop out. Once I added that detail to my darce game, my success rate went up significantly

0:20 A couple weeks of work and the money spent to be there in exchange for finding a big hole in your game+the motivation to change it is a pretty good deal - the effort wasn't lost, brother. You get to keep the darce for as long as you continue to do BJJ.

Regarding Mission 1: wouldn’t you think going further down the end of the lever (crown of the head) would generate more power? As opposed to the spine as you mentioned.

5:23 you show an example of a darce but your opponent was clearly stating that you were just cranking his neck. if you have a successful choke there is no neck torsion

Yeah but only if your opponent is unusually skinny and bird chested. You’re best off conceding and focusing on anaconda - which is no terrible fate because they are totally bussin no cap
