Don’t forget to check the manifold pressure after you install gas valves and clock the gas meter not to mention check for gas leaks and safe combustion. Most people skip these steps but it’s always done on every job regarding a fuel burning appliance because it is the correct way servicing gas appliances and needs to be documented like this in case of a legal disputes. Not too many techs or repair guys have done a video on proper word documentation for the work you just did. Great Video keep up the good work ! 👍🏻

8:48 this voltage test should be carried out with the gas valve hooked up and leads also hooked up. Testing open circuit voltage can be misleading. Without a load on circuit it could. Pass voltage and not be able to pass amperage.

good point, because the control/ignition box/relay may be failing and lull you into thinking it's fine. then it's whoops new gas valve and it still doesn't work or only works intermittent. been bitten that way plenty in the past with all sorts of different electronics and control boards. oven, fridge, washer, tv's, radios, vehicle parts, the list goes on!

if you do a lot of furnaces with pressure switches, you may want to get the more costly (3 port) model with air pump. for sure if you'll be using any universal pressure switches you have to set and choose the right parts(they're a pain in the nutz)

@scott_meyer

@@PipeDoctor Added a month and a half to each end of the swim season. It could keep 87 degrees from mid March to mid October. You'd be surprised how much heat is lost at night to evaporation. In Vegas you never close the pool. If you can stand 55 degree water you can swim in December/January. Our realtor used a wetsuit in the cold season.

I've been watching the auto diag guys mention this a lot and getting fooled. They mostly use light bulbs for a load.
