Thanks for posting this! I saw many videos suggesting the problem was probably the regulator but I followed your troubleshooting procedure and discovered that it was, instead, very likely the blower motor itself. The critical stage absent in many other videos was the testing of the input voltage to the motor. When I tested mine, the power was present and changed with the speed setting, giving me the confidence to know it was the motor that was bad. I bought a new one and had no problem replacing it with complete success. Thanks for saving me so much money!!!

I watched this to find out how to remove and replace the blower motor. That said, this is an excellent tutorial on trouble shooting the blower system. The one thing I might have done before accessing the motor would be to check the fuse, but otherwise this is first rate and understandable for relatively inexperienced DIYers. I really appreciate it. Thanks.

This is truly an excellent video and a very good explanation of how things work and go together. I had the same issue, the blower not coming on anymore, and like always it happened when it was about 90 outside and I had to drive for three hours. Anyhow, I followed your steps and found 12.x volt on the red blower cable with the multimeter and there was ground on the brown wire. So I thought that was easy, it must be the motor that is bad. But while checking the ground the test light was very dim and the beep from the tester was also pretty faint. Definitely different from what it was when I tested the test light on the battery. Hence I hocked up the test light to different ground and there the beep was loud and the light was bright. That raised my suspicion the motor could be OK. I removed the motor from the car and tested it on a 12V battery and it worked just fine. Then I found your other excellent video about the resistor and how to test its function and found that the resistor may be the culprit. To make a long story short, for those using just simple test equipment like a test light it's important to realize that there must be "good ground" as you mentioned in your video. If there is any doubt about the quality of the ground wire I would test the motor on a separate battery before buying a new one. Thanks for making these excellent videos!👍👍
