to my knowledge i couldn't find anything on a work around to this fault code on youtube. found the basic idea on a forum from 10 years ago. thought id make a visual walk through. i would have definitely appreciated it myself as i hadnt worked with vagcom previously.
HERES THE EXACT STEPS I USED.
1. TURN CAR TO ON POSITION
2. PLUG IN CABLE TO COMPUTER
3. PULL FUSE FROM PASSENGER SIDE CORRESPONDING TO THE TPMS MODULE
4. CLICKED SELECT CONTROL MODULE
5. CLICKED 17- INSTRUMENTS
6. CLICKED CODING-07
7. SUBTRACTED 16 FROM THE FIRST 4 DIGITS
8. CLICKED "DO IT!"
the light and fault display went away immediately for me. now. i did previously to this attempt, went into the 19 CAN gateway and used the coding help tool to de select the tire pressure option from there. this did not disable the fault. im adding this to the description because this might have also played a part in disabling the tpms. not completely sure.
I'll try and answer any questions, but be aware im not by any means an expert on this, nor do i know how to fix your car if you mess up the coding. always take a picture of the code before doing anything. even then messing up something might brick the car. i did this change after reading everything i could find.
also i believe disabling this on a car might be in a grey area of the law so be careful about trying to sell a car with this disabled. again not 100% on that but from what i can see shops won't do this because its potentially not allowed by law.
I'm extremely happy about the outcome from this modification. you do lose the tpms function but it will never beep at you or through a big amber light on the dash again. be sure to check your tire pressure every so often.
do this at your own risk. fix and keep enjoying your C6 audi! :)
