Guys use to open up the outside and get their girl friend or mom sew in a triangle piece of their bandana into the leg. Also we often put a triangle insert in both sides.

It’s beautiful, but I have a suggestion. I know you avoided cutting the out part of the pants. I dont know how to explain in proper English, but those pants which has fabric added only one side become a little bit “overlap” and heavy to that side. A suggestion would be: cut inside and outside the leg, and add half size of fabric to each side. The legs of the pants will flow more naturally. But anyway, its a awesome idea. I want to do that because I cant find flare jeans were I leave. 😥

Funny enough, when I was a teenage boy they didn't make men's pants that were both long enough in the leg and narrow enough in the waist to fit me, so I used to buy women's flare jeans. Amazing that they fit better than anything in a men's cut because you're completly right about the length.

You are a gem! I was a teen during the resurgence of bell's and flares in the late 90's, early aught's & skinny Jean's have reigned for so long I was SERIOUSLY missing flares! They're starting to come back again, but not fast enough for me. I bought a pair of bootcut Jean's and they didn't fit, found an identical pair that did and thought, I bet I can use the material from the small pair to make these proper bells! Do you think fusible webbing might extend the longevity? I have both fabric glue & fusible webbing. Hell, I might even just stitch them up when I'm done gluing or fusing. The only bummer about flares is boot season is upon us and I LIVE for my OTK and thigh high boots! I have like 15 pairs....lol oh the sacrifices we make for fashion.
