@@maleriemarinello2331 details? I had an issue with my first soap. 1. I believed someone who said you dont need a stick blender. After 3 hours of mixing, I decided, yeah, you really do. I think I hit a false trace. 2. My castor oil disappeared, as in just gone. So I'm on soap calc trying to modify my recipie AFTER I had oils and lye mixed. 3. I woke up to honey oatmeal soup. So I rewatched (AKA threw it in a pot, in the oven for two hours) basically hot processed it. Which was another learning experience. And because I had put a layer of oatmeal on top, I ended up with a lot of oatmeal in my mix. Basically the soap looked like oatmeal cookies. But hey, they're just curing to harden up now.

This is starting to get exciting ... well, more exciting. I've started collecting supplies and equipment. It'll be a little while before I'm ready to try making my first batch, but I can't stop watching the videos. They're addicting. I almost gave soap making a try back in 2016. I wish this series was available back then. I have a fondness for color, especially deep rich Earth tones. I'm really attracted to the multitude of colorful pattern possibilities with soap making. I was momentarily concerned when the previous video started talking about the pink layer. I'm not a fan of pink, but I found the color of the finished soap to be more towards the agreeable end of the pink range. I'll probably leave the TD out of that batch to darken up the colors a bit. I'm anxious to get the first two batches under my belt and try the drop swirl technique in this video.

Katie - you are simply amazing! I've often thought how cool it would be if you had an in-person soap making class. I'd literally travel from Florida to come hear and watch from the best in the business. Your videos are what got me into soaping 6 months ago and I just love it. I've made close to 1,000 bars and have over 50 designs. So grateful for you and your super fun and informational videos! You've covered pretty much everything at this point. Thank you for being a shining light in the soap world!

I would love a video on soap calculations... and finding the total oil weight. I’m still trying to figure it out!

After watching your academic series I have a WHOLE NEW perspective on soap making and no longer question why single bars of soap can go up to $15 on Etsy. I have mad respect for you soap makers

Like I had no idea it was so dangerous or that it can take 4-6 weeks to cure.

I hope that you add a little bit about how to wrap and/ or store soap bars now that they are made to maintain the appearance and fragrance. Thanks!
