I'm restoring my late fathers very custom 91 454 SS truck. It has fiberglass ground effects and a bunch of goodies. He fixed it up 20years ago, and unfortunately I crashed it a couple years ago, someone pulled right out in front of me. I wish I would have wrote down all the advice about painting he gave me. I didn't get much hands on experience with him due to his cancer and being sick. He was a professional painter in Ceder Rapids IA. He painted it in a pearl blue Imron, it flips from blue to a purple. I have the paint code, however I've never painted, I'm afraid of getting the evil tiger stripes he said inexperienced painters generally got. I will definitely be watching more of your videos.

This is the beauty of Paint Correction, Bodyworks/refinishing, custom paint work. People will always have something to say weather it is negative or positive, sadly negative people will always outnumber the positive ones, but positivity will always outweigh negativity. Good job brother keep doing what you doing. I am a detailer who is now got into real deep shit putting myself into bodyworks and painting without the financial stability and a strong background in bodywork/collision. Cheap tools, courage, self-confidence, good intent, humility, gratitude and a zero fucks on other people's judgment. Quality work comes from time that equates to money agreed upon. I always have overdelivered and not focus on profitability so I find myself broke but happy and satisfied.😁

Beautiful! I am in awe. I just did a vintage sewing machine with a spray-can kit of Candy red. In the side yard under a tree with plastic on the ground. This guy is a good painter but a tip for beginners is to never stop or start spraying on a panel. Start off panel and finish off panel. Once you can eyeball your color and flake flop on the fly you can get away with it but when you're starting out its best to walk the car (like he does when he's doing the candy coat). Great vid. Looks like your tune is about what i've been running for the past decade as well.

Nice job dude, especially considering your makeshift booth and hobby compressor. Solid technique although I always do my first two coats of candy real tight (75% overlap, 1/2 trigger) to ensure real even coverage. As you know, once a candy develops issues early on such as blotchiness or tiger stripes, it is near impossible to save it in subsequent coats. Take care of yourself bud, get that skin covered up, it is your largest organ and a pathway for those iso's to enter your bloodstream.

Ah, the mystical "Candy"of near legendary status. It's creation is not found in Voodoo, rather it is science and methodology - with a lot of tedious work from skilled craftsmen. In my opinion, the painter that uses candy paints successfully, is among the highest order of artist in the Applied Arts. It seems that you have found a home, however ethereal, within this order of your craft's peers. Your work is beautiful, and I too can't wait to see that which you have endeavored to produce come to complete fruition. Were an average Joe wanting to get into painting cars and such, what would you consider to be the minimal equipment needed? Air compressor (size), paint gun(s), hose(s), mixing equipment - what are the "must haves"? As a carpenter needs a hammer, saw and tape measure, what does an aspiring painter need? Thanks for sharing your candy with us. I subbed and turned the bell on.
