This is gold dust, my cut-back sucks. I tend to fall during 'phase one' but I've never tried the technique you outline of throwing your back arm forward.

This was super enlightening to me. Exaggerating the arm movement improved my turns almost immediately. Seems obvious in hindsight but I’ll take the win, clearly I’m just a little bit of a slow learner. Thanks!
