This guide explains the shallow water running start in detail. Shallow water increases the risk of impacting the ground. Beginners want at least knee deep or 50cm of water to mitigate any impact with the ground, and that's with a sand bottom. The close up shots were taken with a Sony RX10 mk4 and the wide angle shots were taken with an Insta 360 One X2. If you are look into 360 cameras I've found the X2 produces much clearer video than the GoPro Max. I don't have to say that, it's just what I've found out during testing. Here's my affiliate link to the One X2: www.insta360.com/sal/one_x2?insrc=INRJ30U Filming location: Noordhoek Beach, temporary flood plain. Board: Jamie SLS 136cm Kite: Duotone Rebel 12m2 in wide angle, and 15m2 in close ups.

Agree with Mike Fabbro in comments below - great video, but missing hints regarding which foot shall go into footsrap first. It would be great if you could add that into video description / comments

@@ssheidorov Hi. If both feet are on the board in quick succession, then it doesn't matter which is first. There's such a small delay between each foot, that the board won't be affected. That means you can jump off your stronger leg, place your weaker foot and then strong immediately after. So I would say jump off your strong leg and then get both feet on the board. Generally speaking the board will behave itself better if you place the front foot first. If you place only the back foot first the board will twist upwind after a second or so if you take a long time getting the front foot on. So generally it's nicer to place the front foot first, or focus on the front strap. If you get the front foot in the strap but miss the back foot strap and end up with the back foot out of the strap, then the board will still be quite comfortable to ride. Good luck.

Great Vlog and great camera angles. This trick has been on my bucket list for a long time. I find that I have a favourite/dominant side as well. One thing I noticed that will help me is that you place your back foot on the board first. I'm not sure what I was doing so I will be sure to focus on that step.
