These Korean girlies have to train their skin color to match I guess. There's 3 shades: white, porcelain, and pale. Edit: I didn't mean to sound rude or anything. My dad is from South Korea and he's tan and I'm quite tan even though my mom is very white. It's just kinda shocking to see makeup brands to have like 3 shades which are all kinda the same color.

Korea is a fairly ethnically homogeneous country, probably easier for these companies to match skin tone when they are more similar.

I have to agree with many of the MUAs I've seen teach this and other foundation application techniques who say we should always go inside to outside for applications because you need the most coverage in the center of your face, and less on the outside helps it blend into your neck/hairline. But I mean application methods are very personal and if it works best the other way, or if it makes no difference for someone, then they should keep doing whatever works for them. Just saying incase anyone was finding their application isn't working for them, this change might help them.

I disagree. I heard an MUA say that we should go from the inside to the outside because the skin on the centre is thinner and can handle only a small amount of foundation while the skin on the edge of the face is thicker

It’s the beauty standards in Asia, they’d rather blend it all out to the neck to fit the unnaturally pale “bright” shade they pick than be happy with their normal, healthy looking skin. There are few Koreans and Asians in general with such naturally pale skin but companies straight up refuse to make darker shades
@nairaraika
Жыл бұрын
@@KawaiiKermit Yes, they always try to look brighter than their actual shade, I've seen it here a lot in South Asia too. We do have darker shades in here, people just want to look bright. I don't understand this at all. There isn’t anything wrong with natural skin shade.

So if you have to use a sponge after What’s the point?
@JOOHKY
Жыл бұрын
The main point is that the spatula is the best tool to express thin and natural skin texture when applying on your base makeup. The reason why we use the sponge after using the spatula is to remove any marks left behind by the spatula and to enhance the adherence of the product.

Another good technique used my professional muas is to put it on a blending platform or your hand and use a dense fluffy blending brush. Pick up a small amount and gently tap, blend in circular motions, and push the product into the skin to make it more than just a layer of makeup. Gives you a flawless base as you aren’t using a load of product all at once, you pick up small amount and blend it out, go back and pick up more and blend. That way there’s even distribution and you don’t put too much product on. This is better than the videos method if you don’t have flawless skin like most Asians as it’s easy to use too much product to cover imperfections like blemishes, hyperpigmentation and texture.
