I am an HVAC maintenance technician. There is more we do than just that. I also check the amp readings on your blower motor, fan motor, and compressor. I also check the refrigerant pressures, and check the sub cool and super heat to make sure the unit isn't low on refrigerant. Unfortunately you have to have someone licensed to do that. You definitely don't want to mess around in the electrical panel if you don't know what you're doing.

Hi. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I'm no HVAC specialist, so what is a TXV bulb exactly? And where is it?
@jessicaeagan3165

Thank you! That really bothered me while watching this video! TXV is the thermal expansion valve. It regulates the flow of refrigerant. The sensing bulb for the TXV is on the front of your evaporator coil. Where he was looking at the drain pan. It kind of looks like a CO2 cartridge. It should be insulated with foam tape
@ford88mustang
5 жыл бұрын
@@jessicaeagan3165 4:52 Fallow the 3/4 copper line where it goes into the coil. Your TXV bulb is strapped to that line. They should be wrapped in insulation tape so ambient air doesn't effect the metering process.

@@PanTheOrganizer I use both Google and KZitem as search engines. I find that YT videos are often not as thorough as text found by Google, but while text is reading material requiring imagination, videos provide images and audio to convey information more easily. On YT I submitted the words "a/c maintenance" into the search function. Below about 3 ads for related businesses in my geographical area I found your video listed about 3rd (on Sep 7, 2020). Repeating the YT search does not keep your video consistently in 3rd place but all the several times I tried it was always listed among the top 5. I subscribed and watched some of your other videos like the Turtle Wax restoration of the polycarbonate plastic of car headlamps. It's a struggle for me not to be wordy. I appreciated Anthony being so thorough in your video; like text AND video. I live in a 3-bed, 2-bath, 2-car garage in SW Florida -- and it's Summer right now ☀️💦 so I need to know about the maintenance of my a/c 😓

I have a question, hopefully you can guide me in the ride direction. Info before question: I have an HVAC unit and the coil inside the house is set in an angel. I noticed last night rust is staring to build up on the pan that catches the water from the coils that leads to the drain pipe(s) and the bottom of the coil. What would you recommend I use to remove the rust that is on the pan and starting to come up the side of the coil? I do use the coil cleaner form twice a year and I know they remove dirt, debris, and other junk that gets in to the fins. I am stuck with Google searching how to remove the rust. I do not want to introduce no chemicals (acids, anodes, etc.) without hearing from experts in the HVAC field.
@mcsiggs2173

Don’t use too much coil cleaner on your evaporator coil (the one in the in the unit inside of the house), to remove rust I use a small shop vac and maybe gloves and a bucket to remove thicker debris, if you see rusting/oil stains you may have a leak and require a epa certified technician or HVAC contractor to send a technician to further investigate, also use hot water and vinegar in a gallon water bottle and pour down your primary drain so it can clean out your drain
@RobertAziz26

You inspecting the back of the coil ? You need to check the other side of the coil where the the airflow comes from. Pull out that black round plastic in the middle and you’ll see.
