Hypopressives is also called Low Pressure Fitness and is an incredible core exercise that has the power to improve or even reverse incontinence and organ prolapse.
This technique is NOT suitable for those with high blood pressure or who are pregnant.
It is a method that started in Europe and made its way to North America about 10 years ago.
It involves a series of poses that are considered low pressure meaning they don't contribute to a rise in intra- abdominal pressure. A rhythmic breathing pattern is added followed by an apnea (a breath hold) after 3 breath cycles.
After all the air is exhaled after the third breath cycle, the glottis is closed (some need to plug their nose and close their mouth at first) and then you expand the ribs as if you were inhaling but because no air
is coming in, it creates a pressure change and the result is a vacuum effect.
There is an upward movement of the belly button which in turn pulls on the urachus ligament which is attached to the bladder. This helps lift the bladder and uterus.
I reversed a stage 2 uterine prolapse with this technique and have helped hundreds do the same or at least improve their prolapse.
