A match made in Heaven!!! Your BEST video. We went to Greece in September, we had an apartment rental, I made our meals everyday almost. We went to buy our fresh produce from a produce stand daily, I made Greek salads from local in season vegetables for breakfast & an early dinner. We had fresh caught local fish, ate meat only twice during our 3 weeks there & had fresh laid chicken eggs almost daily too. The sheep/goat's cheese is fantastic, no lactose intolerance from either of us. The olives & olive oil are AMAZING & excellent quality. We brought back a suitcase full!! Lemon/lime trees & olive trees are everywhere, they use trees as fruit-bearing, not just shade; even in Athens. Herbs are everywhere too, some are for good luck. I love Greece❤❤❤ Gind an island you love & visit often🙏🙏

I am Greek so when started on keto I immediately adapted to a medi keto lifestyle. So easy and makes perfect sense. All the benefits of both worlds. We heavily rely on good olive oil here anyway so I manage to hit my macros without needing butter or unreliable meat fat etc. So much better, healthier and tastier. I used to call my eating style clean keto but medi keto is a much more appropriate description.

Nice to finally have a name for this! I’ve been a flexitarian a few months now and love the way I feel eating this way save the bloating from beans, etc. I thought going low carb wasn’t possible/ was too difficult relying on plant sources for more protein. Then when I came across Thomas’ video on vegan keto, and he showed that it’s possible and touted its benefits, I thought I’d give it a try! The only thing is I still include fish, eggs and butter in my diet so I thought this was just ‘flexitarian keto’. Now it’s nice to know it’s called this so I can discover more recipes that fit this style of keto!

OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!! I get so confused with all the conflicting information and this brings it all together!!! Also, artichokes have been my favorite food since I was 3 years old :-) I was turned off carnivore by listening to Dr. Rhonda Patrick, who expressed concerns about its potential effects on gut biome. I was intrigued by Dr. Gundry's Plant Paradox, who says that vegetables are just a vehicle to get more olive oil into the body. I also have a lot of respect for Dr. Berg, who emphasizes vegetables. You are becoming my go-to guy for keto and I just love how you base what you say so solidly in research. You also express an awareness of the pitfalls of factory farming and the toxins present in big fish (not to mention the over-fishing nightmare) and I also really appreciate how well-rounded and informed your perspective is in that regard. Thanks so much for all these quality videos! I pass them on whenever I can.

On all the keto you tubers, Thomas you are my best. I find your approaches quite practical and not super restrictive and I love the way there is flexibility in food choices. I modified my low carb/med diet to be predominantly monounsaturated fat. I eliminated fatty cuts of meat (except wild caught salmon and mackerel) but instead added lean meats. With the lean meat, I can add the fat of my choice. For instance I can add avocado or macadamia oil to my steak or chicken breasts. I know most keto folks would say I must eat the fatty meat cuts like ribeye, chicken thighs etc but I changed this approach when I learnt that saturated fat raises ApoB

After watching ChubbyEmu's recent video, I think a video on keto and breast feeding would also be quite useful.

@@justins7711 Chubbyemu's video on the lady who went keto isn't representative of keto in general. She had some cancer that caused her to produce too much insulin if i remember correctly.

@@Greyfoxdbz18 Right, an insulinoma, but I still think the added stress on the glucose balancing system is worth digging into. The lady in Chubby's video was likely an extremely rare case.

Astonishing. This looks a lot like the diet I was moving towards when going low carb earlier this year. And then, doing research on why it was making me feel good, I found all this info about keto.... with the cheese and the butter and the fatty steaks and so and so on. Transitioning into that didn't work for me, at all. Crashed hard and never got back in the groove of things. Watching this video though, it's lit a fire under me. I'm fairly sure this is the diet my gut was leading me to before I got distracted by all the youtube science, can't wait to get back to it in earnest. This video is just what I needed for a confidence booster, thx.

Thomas! I wanted to share a recipe of something I have been makin'. I'm on an OMAD and STRICTLY carnivore with Monday all day fasting! It's a 3 day - "fish casserole" kind of creation. Consists of a can of Albacore tuna in spring water, a can of sardines - wild caught in water and a vacuum packed large piece of wild caught alaskan salmon (coho or sockeye) from Trader Joes, all cooked on my outside covered grille. I put the salmon on a foil boat out on the covered grille and while its cookin', I make a foil boat platter with about 20" of foil, folded long way in1/2 and then cup up the outer edge (about an inch) to make a boat. Then scoup in the tuna (after draining water) and the anchovies drained and break up it all and stir it up. After the salmon cooks (about 15 minutes) I scoup it into the mixture and break it all up and stir it in. Then I scoup it all into the foil boat and flatten it out and put a couple scoups of beef tallow (fat) on top for oil. Then back in to the grille for about 10 -15 more minutes. But I also make about 6 local free range raw eggs whipped in a bowl and pour it on top and kind of stir it in. In 10 minutes I have a 3 day casserole that I divide in three and last me for 3 meals (days)! It only comes to about $5 per day to eat! It's awesome!!

Thank you for the great info! The "Perpindular" on your board got me cracking tho!!
I’ve been doing healthy carnivore 3 days a week and healthy Keto/Mediterranean 4 days a week for a few months now and feel amazing not to mention how shredded I’m getting! Grass fed beef liver 3x a week has my energy level through the roof and is more nutrient dense than anything you can eat. Great video Thomas! Looking forward to your meal plans 💪

My #1 need is a keto/mediterranean meal plan. Please, please, make this happen. From Jul of 2018 to Nov of 2018, I lost 70 pounds on the keto diet and MUCH of that was with help from your videos. THANK YOU!! I learned a lot about the science of keto. However, since then, I've put 50 pounds back on and most of that was due to the lack of a meal plan that had enough variety in it, for me to stick to it. I invented my own meals, but I'm not a natural when it comes to making a particular dish or a meal plan. So what good is head knowledge when it doesn't translate to a (long-term) health benefit? What's the point of talking about all the science around healthy eating if it doesn't have results? I enjoy gaining academic knowledge but the knowledge itself is not the end goal for me. Whenever 'my time' comes, I don't want my surviving family & friends to say, "Well, he died from obesity related causes, but at least he knew why." I would LOVE to have a real manageable meal plan and a regimen for how to buy the food to execute that meal plan. Thanks for broaching this topic and than you Thomas for all you've done!!

Most countries with Mediterranean diets dont even eat alot of pasta. As a half Spaniard half Portuguese person, I've been eating the Mediterranean diet my whole life. It's mostly Fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, healthy fats in olive oil, fresh local fish, chicken and some red meats and pork. Wouldn't want it any other way
