@@thefutur Oh wow, where do I even begin? In this video, I would have to say pushing forward to finish, not editing or reviewing while you're creating. And not being afraid to fail and fail again, and chunking big risks to smaller ones. Oh, and the pie chart requiring deadlines and boundaries. From your other videos, just the concept that I'm worth it, and to be an advocate for my inner self, and doubling my rates. Your role plays with price customers are soooo helpful in that regards. I could keep going, thank you so much!

portfolio worthy , everything time i hear this, its the most egoistic thing a designer can say, its not at all their fault this what they've been taught, but the sooner you get rid of that mentality and focus on what results a client wants, you can have something portfolio worthy and valuable as opposed to just being window dressing. This also doesnt mean dont take on things you dont like but hit that balance, between what you love and what is in demand and what's actually helpful.

Agile software engineer here! Some additional clarity to add to Chris' excellent presentation on MVP (Minimal Viable Product) @ 1:11:00 . The MVP represents something that can actually go into production. As in, it checks all the required checkboxes, it's fully functional at a minimal level, and provides some value to the end-user. So if we think of a client asking for a new logo design as an example. A client might explain that to go into production with the new logo, they absolutely have to have a large hi-res image available for their print posters in full color and in monochrome, and an image sized for their desktop website, one for their mobile app, and one for their favicon. Perhaps the client explains that they absolutely require all of these formats. So if you provide them a very basic logo design (even one that they think is kind of ugly) which include this set, But at the same time is (at least) satisfactory to use, i.e. it works, i.e. it's viable!.. Then that's the MVP. Another example might be a restaurant menu flyer. An MVP might be a single sided sheet with just the name of the restaurant, address, phone number, hours, and the popular dishes with prices. If the flyer that's designed is good enough to give to client to have printed and sent out to customers then that's the MVP! Once you've delivered the MVP, you can then iterate on it leveraging feedback and incrementally deliver slightly improved versions until we get to a product they actual like and can be proud to show-off. What Chris diagrammed is more of an explanation of incremental and iterative development rather than MVP. Incremental/iterative dev has some amount of overlap with "Agile Development" agilemanifesto.org/ . Agile development is more about the the idea of embracing changes, rather than taking the traditional approach of change-management to resist/punish/pushback on changes. i.e. Thoughtfully setting up a development approach that incorporates practices to increase the ability of the development process to take in changes from the environment, resources, market, customers, and clients, etc. etc.

my focus is usually narrowed down by necessity , I started in photography, never thought I would l do food photography, It is a daunting task to cook or prepare food, learn to style and shoot the food......but I run a farm and do photography on the side and usually shoot landscapes, products, and portriats. but the farm produces maple syrup and honey and in an attempt to create demand for my products I have decided to make people hungry, and instead of just shooting products, I am going to use my skills to learn to shoot delicious food, its not easy, but in an attempt to promote, I am learning that as well as how to use instagram and facebook to get the images out there and direct viewers back to our store. I watch chris do, watch great food photographers on youtube, view other's work on instagram, and read books by professionals working in the field, as well as learning photoshop and lightroom

Deadlines and finishing things don’t motivate me in big projects :’) it doesn’t work for everyone. Some people don’t get a big dopamine hit after making something done. For me I need to become obsessed with finishing a thing quickly (for example: to show it to people that I know will like it) or become excited about doing something else after I finish the big difficult project (so setting a „start” time on another project instead of „dead” time on the one I’m working on). I suggest looking up 4 main tendencies for people to become motivated too.

Chris is out of focus when he walks away from the tack sharp white board. Maybe this effect was intentional to draw the viewer into the whiteboard, but if it you want a Chris in focus, here are some tips. Solution 1: The camera is really far back, you zoomed way too far in, and you auto/manual focused onto that whiteboard. This creates an incredibly shallow depth of field meaning only a thin slice of the picture, the board (midground), is in focus. Maybe bring the camera closer to Chris and zoom out for a deeper depth of field. If you used a fixed lens then Solution 2 is more suitable. Solution 2: The camera lens might have a big aperture opening (low "F" number) paired with a fixed lens (no ability to zoom and sometimes cannot change "F" number) that is better for close up photography like when Chris is in the sound booth on a Skype call with a celebrity. If possible, make the aperture smaller (the camera targeting circle before James Bond shoots you at the beginning of his movies) by increasing the "F" number so your depth of field is deeper so more of the background and foreground are in focus. This makes your lens go into "telescope" mode and maintains sharpness of the background and foreground (aka. "bokeh" or "shallow depth of field"). The downside is a smaller aperture (high "f" number) creates blurry photos unless you add more light. You guys seem to like the ambient romantic dim lighting like from your "After hours" fireside series. To have dim light and keep foreground and background sharp (deep depth of field) you need ideally these 3 things: 1. Use a camera with large photosites so it can sense more light (attained from a big sensor with very few megapixels, like the Sony A7S 24x36mm sensor with 12 megapixels, and stay away from the Sony A7R with the same size 24x36 mm sensor with 24-61 megapixels). Photosite area is the area of the sensor divided by Megapixels. 2. Adjust your lens to have a smaller aperture opening by making the camera len's aperture smaller (increase "F" number), don't make the "F" too big cause then your ISO will go up and everytthing will get grainy/fuzzy. 3. Add more light on Chris AND change your camera len's aperture to be smaller (increase "F" number) while not increasing your ISO graininess/fuzziness. Your len's aperture ("F" number) is written on the lens and usually contains a decimal like a permanent 1.8 or a variable range of 3.5-22. Sometimes aperture has an "F" prefix. It is not the mm number denoting zoom. *Disclaimer: I am a self-taught photographer using a Sony A6000 with the included 16-50mm kit lens, so take my advice with a grain of salt. I have only photographed 1.2 million photos of trees for 3 years and watched 50-100 camera tutorials on KZitem.*
