Steve, It looks like you go from a closed to a slightly open racquet face when you go into the lag phase. This is something I've been experimenting with an its helped me get more spin and consistency. If your face stays closed or even square you are always fighting gravity. You end up hitting flat topspin. Or to overcome your closed or square racquet face, you have to swing at a very steep angle which limits power and extension. In either case if you open your racquet face slightly before pronation, you get a lot of lift and spin. Your thoughts?

Leaning over the ball was probably one of the biggest things that improved my game. It's crazy how obvious it is once you realize if you are standing up straight and or partially pushed back the racket will naturally open up at contact. No more long balls if you can put your chest into it

Thanks for the visual perspectives at head & waist level from the baseline. Must be why putting a tarp over the net as a training aid is effective

That's great, thanks. And here's another view no one knows about. Get a step ladder and see how high you have to be before the ball can see into the service box. No wonder a fast flat serve is so iffy. And you are gonna want to clear the net by 6 inches or so...so now how high. Maybe you will make us a vid...surprises most everyone.

Most errors are made because the hitter doesn’t understand what he’s doing. You can practice a particular stroke for 20-30 years and still not know what you’re doing! You think you do; but that’s just you,, deceiving yourself.
