PAINTING VIDEO DESCRIPTION - Let me be your acrylic art instructor as I teach you easy step-by-step instructions in this beginner art video as you learn how to paint a black bear cub and birch trees in this fun autumn landscape acrylic painting. I live in the middle of the woods, up in the mountains in one of highest elevations in Western Massachusetts in the Berkshires. No neighbors in sight, only the sounds of nature, and I see more wildlife come down my street than vehicles. Large groups of wild turkeys frequently visit my backyard from late summer to early winter, cranes and ducks come to eat all the frogs in my pond every morning beginning early spring, a family of deer graze on my berry bushes near my garage every dusk and dawn, moose will leave their hoof prints on the path in my woods every now and then, and the occasional bear will saunter onto my yard looking for snacks, usually after an afternoon of barbequing with my family. I am both terrified and in awe every time I see a bear. They are so massive and so gorgeous, and I am eternally grateful for how easily startled they are and how they run off the moment one of my dogs starts to bark. Although I initially thought of painting a bear, I find that cubs are far cuter. Their baby paws, little ears, pointy nose, and teeny eyes make these furry cubs so huggable (unless mama bear is around). So, a word of caution to anyone... do not approach a bear cub in the woods because mother bear is always nearby, and she will rip you to shreds if you go near her baby! That being said, join me and paint this adorable baby cub climbing a birch tree just in time for the autumn season. The painting process for this beginner art lesson is so simple. First, you’ll learn how to paint a background with a warm gray color, the perfect backdrop for your autumn painting. After learning how to draw birch trees using a simple dot to dot method, you’ll learn how to paint out-of-focus bokeh autumn leaves using a dotting or stippling painting technique, creating impressionistic leaves in the background. In the next art step, you’ll learn how to use a palette knife to paint birch trees. Painting with a palette knife (aka painting knife) will give your birch trees realistic form, texture and depth, like a 3-D photograph. After painting a base coat for your bear cub, you’ll then learn how to paint fur using a one stroke directional brushstroke, to really create fullness and a flow to the fur. You’ll then learn how to paint cute eyes, a nose and a mouth, giving your bear cub character, personality and life. You’ll finish your painting masterpiece with your own personalized signature. This painting is so easy, you’ll have confidence to change it up in any way you want. Paint different trees, such as, oak, maple, or pine. Paint more cubs, or a mom or dad bear and make it a family, you could even paint other animals, such as a squirrel, chipmunk or racoon. The point is to have fun and create the perfect canvas wall art fitting to decorate your home. Using only 3 brushes and 5 colors, easy as paint by number, you’ll paint like a professional and create the best canvas painting in the world! Have a date night, paint party, or virtual paint night. An easy art project and paint with gouache, oil paint, or watercolor, any medium will work! Paint just for fun or for art therapy. I hope you enjoy watching this KZitem art video and let's get painting and let's get sipping!
