Another thing you can do is make blobs in the general shape of the highlights you want and then erase the ends of them similar to this video. If you use a brush that can change its opacity based on pressure. This will work well.

@@blaze26700 The blur settings are slightly different in the 'filter' mode. And the blur tools outside of 'filter' mode act more like a blurring brush. You also have to manually change the eraser to the one you need, you cant just hold then set it to the same brush as your drawing one. As for the infinite paint question, Idk.

@@blaze26700im also a beginner and have both the free versions of medibang ibis paint and brought procreate. Procreates interface is different like if your used to ibis like I kind of am(i know where everything is on screen) it'll take you time to learn where everything is and how to use it. I at times get so frustrated with Procreate because i can make nice sketches but have no idea how to color them in it. To the point I switch from procreate to ibis paint 😂😂. I still like procreate its just harder for me to grasp personaly.

In the long run that's not super helpful but appreciated, I would say look up references and know what direction the light is coming from. Just like the hair is separated into multiple parts it's also on a 3d surface which means that only part of the volume will receive light and the other side will be shaded. Hope that helps someone.
