What a surprise! An old-fashioned multi-sided style BIC is the LAST type of pen I would have guessed anyone might use for art. Each time I pick one up I'm lucky if the ball isn't stuck. What do you like about them that's better than all the smoother roller tip options including gels which are designed to glide so easily across the paper? I haven't tried many brands, but of the one's readily available at Walmart, the two best I've found so far for the money are Zebra Z series for a pure ball point tip, and Pilot's V pens, like V5 and V7 which are the smoothest pens I've ever used, but maybe they put out more ink too fast and too dark for the shading you're wanting to do, which is understandable. I never thought there would ever be a need for a high-resistance ball point pen that puts ink out slow. What is the whole point of BIC's orange casings at 0:17, both opaque and see thru orange? Why don't they just stick with regular clear so you can see how much ink you have left? When companies try to get fancy and so-called 'innovative,' it so often only confuses people.

@ Paul D actually the way Garth holds his pen IS THE KEY TO THIS STYLE this allows a shallower angle of the pen to the paper this Leaves a lesser amount of ink for finer shading

Like the medium one? is it the 1mm japanese Bic? cause there is fine 0.8 mm and there is cristal fine 0.8!! lots of Bic pens there and I can't decide which one is which! Also which brand of paper do you use? And why do you think it's best for pens? One last question, do u think it is possible to mix pens colors by layering it lightly?

Guessing by your name, you're Indian. If so, we don't have good drawing pens here. Some very expensive pens are available but those are not good for drawing because the ink flow is very different from that of those that produce the desired flow.
