Doesn't even come close to metallic. The "spoon" can use darker outlines.

This is great, thanks for sharing! As a suggestion ~ I think it would be really helpful to mention what tools you're using (what brand of pencil, and the weight (2B vs Hb, etc). Do you use the same weight throughout, or do you mix it up (if so, why and when?). And curious if you have a favorite brand of black color pencil and white marker. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback, Marissa! I always appreciate learning how I can present information better! To answer some of your questions: My go-to tools are a 2H, HB, and 2B Mechanical pencils which I use in combination to give me the majority of my values. I use pentel mechanical pencil lead. For the mechanical pencils themselves- just go with whatever brand/style feels comfortable in your hand. For deep darks, I prefer a standard prismacolor black colored pencil, and for white highlights I tend to use Gelly Roll white gel pens and Sakura Pen-Touch white paint markers ☺️ Thanks again!

Its like drawing anything from reference. Forget WHAT you are drawing... a spoon, an ear, a paw etc, and just draw the shapes. Put them together and get the values right. I struggle with skin pores. Do you have any videos on that?

How can I draw without reference?
@Randomness_Avenue
3 жыл бұрын
Drawing with a reference for hyper realism or just realism is essential for most artists of the style. Nearly every realism artist uses one or usually multiple, but it’s possible to not use one but very very difficult. I’d suggest memorizing your subject and following the same steps of you really didn’t want to use one, although for metal it may be difficult,
