In this video I show you how to draw the "Clover" Celtic knot. Based on the 4x4 grid, this knot is a lot of fun to construct. This is a very basic Celtic knot that is good for beginners and looks awesome! I call this the clover knot because the 4 corners look like three-leaf clovers.
This knot is the first one on my channel that uses break lines. Break lines are so important when drawing Celtic knots. The number and orientation of break lines used will predetermine the design of your knot. It is so cool to place your break lines in an interesting pattern and then watch your knot take life as you connect the dots.
Because this is my first video with break lines, I kept it really simple with four short ones that are spaced fairly far apart. The closer your break lines are to each other, the more challenging (and confusing) it will be to draw your knot.
I find drawing Celtic knots to be very relaxing and meditative. Going slowly and focusing on my lines puts me in a zen state. Time flies by as I draw in a flow-state.
I hope you find these tutorials useful in your own Celtic knot designs. If you make a knot with one of my tutorials, please share it with me! I would love to see it ☺
