In this video I will be showing how we can drill metals with HSS high speed steel drills and the making of threads with high speed steel taps using a T type tap / wrench. The process is simple and easy, but it is important that all steps are followed correctly so that you can get a good result.
To do the job I need some tools: a 4.5 mm high-speed steel drill / a 6.5 mm high-speed steel drill (according to the inch hole chart) a set of taps in size 15/16 '' inch (inch) a T male, a marker / marker, lubricant (ideally a cutting fluid), a hammer to mark the guide hole, and an electric drill with speed control.
SOME CARES
Wear goggles
Drill the hole with the appropriate drill and at the specified speed.
Use a clamp to secure small parts. Do not try to hold the part by hand only.
Remove the bars with a brush, never with your hand.
Do not put too much pressure on the bit, the hole should happen naturally.
Using sharp drills, this will avoid the use of the pressure requirement and a consequence of the drill breaking.
If there is a jam during the hole, turn the machine off, to unlock it, turn the bit in the opposite direction.
In deep holes, frequently clean burrs stuck to the drill grooves.
Do not operate the drill with the chuck key in the position of use.
Drill successive holes with drills from smaller to larger sizes until the desired larger hole is obtained.
Use coolant to increase tool life.
Drills are cutting tools used to make cylindrical holes. They are used through a tool called a drill (drill, in Brazil), which makes the drill rotate and cut the material, drilling it. There are several types of drills type H, N, W, flat drills that are used for drilling rigid materials at low depths, there are also helical drills that can have two cutting edges and one extra edge that connects the two main edges to the edge secondary cutting.
