Part 1 of 2 of the Video in which I show some techniques, tips and good habits when drilling
History:
Drilling
To drill in an optimal way we should distinguish the material (hard or soft)
Scratch the material to know if it is hard or soft
In steel, if you compare it with iron, you will see that the line is shallow
Now I am going to make a test of drilling, in aluminum and steel (hardness 10), with common drill bit and cobalt
Thus you can see the great difference that exists when using common and special drill bits (Cobalt or titanium)
Aluminum, hole 2 cm deep, common drill, Time spent: 14 s
Aluminum, hole 2 cm deep, cobalt drill bit, Time spent: 5 s
Steel 10, common drill bit
Steel 10, hole 2 cm deep, common drill bit, Time spent: 37 s
Steel 10, Cobalt drill bit
Steel 10, hole 2 cm deep, Cobalt drill bit, Time spent: 16 s
Cool the drill with water or oil when drilling very hard materials
Common drill bit, hardness material 10, water cooling
Common drill bit, hardness material 10, oil cooling
If drilling causes overheating, the hole hardens
To overcome this inconvenience we can do it in two ways ...
1- Sharpen drill very well, Drill slowly and tighten
2- Use a special cobalt or titanium drill bit
This is the first part, soon on my channel the second part
Distinguishing materials
Special drill bits
Refrigeration when drilling
