if your fishing on a day with no seaweed you can put a 2nd hook on the bottom of your torpedo weight, catches a surprising amount of bites sometimes

Yea down here with calm enough warmer water and bait shallow, halibut will be present. Filleting is such a satisfying skill to learn. It’s quickly become one of the best parts of fishing for food. The process is just so gratifying

Dude awesome freaking video. I think with the knowledge you are sharing I am building up enough confidence to try out some surf fishing, any recommendations on waders? Or locations. I use to spear fish them out in Monterey Carmel area maybe like 16 years ago. Never caught them on rod and reel though.

Right now! haha mostly end of spring as the baitfish start to school up and get close to shore. as soon as that happens and the grunion start going, it's prime time. Pretty much end of spring to end of summer into early fall

Dude, I watched the vid and used 6lb test with a size 4 hook. After I got done I thought that it looked like a palomar knot with the tag end going through once more. Am I right? Loved your filet job and you didn't even have to explain what you were doing. You might want to say make sure your knife is really sharp.

Usually when incoming tide coincides with daybreak because wind usually starts around noon or sooner for us
