I think tracking is one of the most important things, it allows you to see whats working and not working so you can tweak your strategy over time :) If you go to the link in the description of this video you will see a Patreon link for the Casual Cash Club, i have the template there :) Let me know if you need any help at all

Your math to retire financial independently is not correct. You can't use the full earnings from the investments as "passive income" since you might need to reinvest (have your investments grow) at least by CPI annually. You should only draw down interest over and above vested/growth less CPI. So if you have 100k investment returning 10k a year with no growth, then you need to at least make sure your starting investment the next year is 105/106k so you actually only have 4-5k. So if you earning 30k on 500k investment (6%) then you need to make sure that at least your capital appreciation will cover the CPI. Instead of focusing on interest, focus on real return...

I guess this is a bit less of an issue with appreciating stock price and dividend drip, hopefully :) My concern is more in regards to the saving accounts, where if your interest does not beat CPI+, your overall money value depreciate even with compound interest? What portion of your portfolio would you say forms part of growth or value investing vs dividend or interest investing? My FA "made" me change most of my portfolio to value and or growth investing, I miss seeing the divident roll in, now it's less visible :( Love your sharing, was missing the vids for a while now :)

@@andriessnyman6131 "I guess this is a bit less of an issue with appreciating stock price and dividend drip, hopefully :)" - No, its still an issue as dividend stocks don't tend to grow in price relative to market. "your overall money value depreciate even with compound interest" - Yes, hence my statement that OP hasn't taking into consideration that if you want to FIRE and live off your investments, your investments at least need to be able to grow with CPI + drawdown (to put it simply). Investing for dividends and interest for long term is a terrible idea in general and should not be an investment strategy. There is ZERO, literally zero empirical evidence that shows investing for dividends will yield a greater net return over the long term vs the market Not to mention the active decisions going into choosing which dividend stocks to pick (aka Stockpicking...). Dividends are great, but the aren't a bias for making investment decisions. Ben Felix made a great summary about it referencing factual researches and literature. The unfortunate truth is allot of people don't know how capital markets and pricing models works. They tend to invest based on emotion and rather what sounds exciting or what worked in history (chasing past figures) vs investing based on empirical evidence.

Hey I would like to know how do you calculate your monthly Tyme Bank interest on the goal savings
@CasualCash
10 ай бұрын
So you will look at the interest amount that you earn. So if it is 7%, then you take the total amount you have and divide it by 100, then multiply it by 7. That will give you the yearly amount. So you divide that by 12, and you get your monthly amount :)

Yes I do. If you want you can have a look at the SAPOA (south african property owners association) website. There is a tab on the website for courses. They are fully recognized and are offered by Wits, UP, UJ etc. You can look at the ICPP, ECPP and CCPP among others. There is lots of good options there!

Im new to this can i ask what happens if all these stocks crash?
@CasualCash
Жыл бұрын
So if the stocks all crash, then you will lose your capital. However, that is only if you sell when they are down. Most of the time the markets will go up and down, but over the long term they will mostly go up. So the main idea for me, would be to hold them until prices recover. But also if you diversify your investments, ie invest in many different markets and areas of the world they should not all crash at once, if at all :)
