The LED lighting you may try turning the voltage down a bit to dim it to make the it appear realistic and give the "stained glass" look vs the bight white washing of it. Also for audio. you could use a cheap MP3 player. Could be also done for machine shop, or factory or anything. If you cant find the audio you can simply use your smart phone to record it then save it as a audio file and use your MP3 player to play back. For speakers you can get cheap head phones and remove either the foam or silicon part and use paper to make a cone to project the sound. Then you could actually place the speaker inside buildings to give the location of sound from the object..

Good idea always when building a kit is to spray paint the interior black. This is a big help in preventing lighting to show through where it is not supposed to.

That church will look great after you paint the inside! There is an easier way to do the inexpensive christmas lights LEDS and three AA batteries or a 9V one. They usually come with the battery holder and resistor included, or just use a 400 to 500 Ohm resistor. And the batteries last for ever, unless you leave them on for a week or two nonstop. Anyway I'm not bashing your way James, which is very good I'm just giving an alternate way. Great video by tha way!

As far as the interior lighting, you can glue a pair of copper tubing inside the building. You solder the wire underneath to the copper tubing ( + and -) and then solder multiple lights onto the copper tubing. I did that and it was very easy and the results were fantastic...

I also had a problem when the light glowed through the building roof and walls. To solve this i put black card indide the building and cut slots for windows. After the only light you could see was through the window.

You have the voltage set too high. You don't want light glowing through the roof of the building. Have you thought about using tinfoil or other material to cover the inside of the roof to keep the light from glowing through?

There are a few components to building a railroad layout. One plan I discovered which succeeds in merging these is the Jareks Hobby Club (check it out on google) it's the most helpful guide that I've seen. Check out the great information .

Paint the interior of your church to keep the light from showing through the walks and roof. OBTW good videos. I just officially retired from the military a couple of days ago and plan on starting my layout once house is straight. It is nice to live by the UP main again.

If you are looking for a really cheap system, Bachmann's EZ Command is a great way to go where you can run 9 DCC engines and 1 DC. For a more advanced higher end system, NCE Procab or MRC Prodigy Advanced Squared is the way to go.

Not sure what those windows are made of or if the stained glass patterns were applied to them, but taping over them may damage them when you go to remove the tape. You may want to paint around them with a brush and a small scrap of thin cardboard or plastic held in place with a clothespin or just a finger. Just remember two or three thin layers of paint is better than one thick layer. Thick layers usually end up running across areas you don't want the paint to be.

Hi. Agree With the haircut, but instead of messing With the voltage you should do what everyone I know do With their buildings: Paint the inside walls and roof With one or more coats of black or primer-grey. Allmost all kits are shine through and this Cures the problem. (just reamember to cover the Windows before painting lol) and then when finnished Paint the inside walls in the collor you like unless you like primer grey or black. Cheers:)

I'm cheap-- I take small Christmas light bulbs and cut them apart and use those. They run on about 2 volts so I take an old 12 volt dc power supply and run 6 in series. It works but they burn out frequently

Wiring needs a colour coding standard (all yellow is not acceptable) and gathering the wires (twisted pairs is good) so you know what goes with what. The picture of the sound board just looked such a mess.

Wow, for an MSRP of $83.99 you would think that Woodland Scenics would have picked up on this detail and provided a painted interior of the church/buildings so the lighting would not bleed through the walls or roof. Guess their structures were not meant to be lighted...

See what i mean about the resin leaking all the light. As you Put above., Spay or paint with a dark colour then another coat of white. You could get a much smaller speaker and put it inside the church its self then it will sound like the congregation is really in the church. By the way i nearly peed myself on the opening shots of this video.... very funny.
