Keep killing it. For kosher consumers, not all liqueurs are kosher. Like Chartreuse, St. Germain, etc. Learning to recreate these will be very helpful.

That’s interesting. I didn’t know that. What makes them not Kosher?
@akivaschenk2342
Жыл бұрын
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks Any alcohol made from grapes is not kosher unless certified. This includes vermouth, brandy, grappa, etc. Due to lack of quality kosher sweet vermouth in the United States, we are lacking in Manhattans and Negronis. Good recipes for vermouth that work for these recipes would help tremendously. Also liqueurs need to be certified kosher to ensure there are no unkosher ingredients, like bugs (Campari used to use cochineal coloring). Imagine life without Negronis! Thankfully Campari and Martini & Rossi vermouth is certified in Israel so we need to make sure friends are bringing some back:) So thank you again, all liqueur recipes and vermouth recipes will be tremendously helpful.

That’s the beauty with this, you can make almost any kind of liqueur. If there’s a GRAS oil, you can make one! Have fun and let me know how it goes.

Why using super juice? That's why you did not shake the cocktail?
@TrufflesOnTheRocks

I dis that for two reasons. First, I wanted a slightly less acidic ph because I think Corpse Reviver is a tie but too tart and also the clearer look of the cocktail just looks better with the oil garnish. Cheera

If I used a 50% ABV and my solution is cloudy, would pectinase make the solution clear? (Never used it, and just heard about it)
@TrufflesOnTheRocks
Жыл бұрын
Hey Joe, the pectinase won’t help you for this. It’s for liquid with pectine in it such as fruit juices. That’s said, when you will mix it with the 330ml of vodka, you should get something pretty clear.

If I’m using Balkan vodka to do this ( it’s 88% ) what sort of rations I’m using? How can I calculate any of that liquor? and how to calculate syrup:spirit ratio ? I dunno if that make sense, I’m just using way stronger spirit

Hey Jean-Felix! What resources did you use to read up on liqueurs? Was it just Darcy at AOD, or are there some books on the topic? I'd love to read them if there are!

can i have some zero proof liquers recipe or can i substitute the alc in ur recipe?
@TrufflesOnTheRocks
8 ай бұрын
Well once you've made the essences, you could dissolve them in water and sugar and have an "alcohol free" liqueur because even if the essences are alcoho based, the end result would be less than 0.5% abv. If you do that, I recommend adding a little bit of glycerin in the mix for added texture

Just to confirm, when you say essential oils, are we talking about the same oils that people use for aromatherapy?
@TrufflesOnTheRocks
Жыл бұрын
Yes and no. All essential oils can be used for aromatherapy but the one you can ingest need to be GRAS which means generally recognize as safe. Look at the essence video on Art Of Drink channel to understand the difference and know how to make your choice
