I've used lightroom before I lost everything on my computer including the program.. I was super overwhelmed when I started editing in Lightroom, but the more I played around with it and got to know the program the more I came to really enjoy editing pictures in it. I can't wait to get the program agian I miss it terribly! Great tutorial buddy! Such a big help!

Jay, I am looking to upgrade from GoPro Studio its driving me nuts. I run a solid state Windows 10 laptop to manage 1080P (VERY light 4k use) and I was wondering if it were you, which would you run?

This is going to help alot of people. I don't get it this kinda stuff but it's still nice to see how you do your work. Really it's why I follow your channel, it's so much more than fishing. You and your friends seem really humble and that is becoming more rare on KZitem today.

I like when you share details, be it explaining the trade-offs of your camera gear (SLR vs GoPro), fishing techniques and now lightroom workflow- as others have stated you are a great teacher and know the subtle details to call out, where others might gloss over. I too use a lightroom workflow and was recently introduced to Photo Mechanic which I now use as the front end of my Lightroom work flow to better manage (tag, etc) assets. You might want to check it out if you haven't already. Looking forward to seeing more content like this! Cheers!

Jay, Would you need a big expensive camera to take high-quality pictures or could you use a decent camera phone? the portrait mode on iPhones takes some really good pictures. Would this produce a good result?
@JaySiemens
5 жыл бұрын
It works better with RAW photos, but would still work on iPhone photos, but you may want to tone down the intensity of the presets. You’ll have less flexibility with iPhone photos.

Do you normally keep files as cr2's, or do you convert them to dng's? Love the flexibility raw gives you!

it depends on the camera what format it is...they are both considered raw. My drone outputs dng, my dslr outputs cr2’s. No conversion needed before importing.

Jay, are there ways the presets can be designed and applied using a phone app? If so, I assume they won't be as fine tuned but it would be nice to get away from standard filters provided by social media.
