Well done! I shoot a lot of northern lights in Iceland myself hand has a very similar editing workflow. However the sharpening technique was new to me. Thanks for the tip! Looking forward to the next season!

A wealth of information, thank you! Going back to Iceland soon and hoping to perfect my aurora photos. Is a good white balance of 3500 a good kelvin to start at? I'll be using this helpful video when I return. :-)

I'm just about to head off to Finland to capture for the first time the Auroras - I've watched more than several how to photograph them and now your great Editing Northern Lights photos in LR video gives me a little more confidence I may be able to bring out the best in my attempts. I will be using a Canon R5 with a Canon 14-35 F/4 lens and I hope I will not regret not spending even more on an F/2.8 which every professional is using for the Auroras.

Your Idea looks ok to me...but since is a NATURAL SPECTACLE I PREFER THE NATURAL IMAGE. NOT BEING MANIPULATED

We can appreciate that. You'll notice we do try to keep processing to a minimum and had we shot this in Jpeg, most of these adjustments would have been made by the camera so this would be the "natural image." However, the camera is already "manipulating" the image as what we naturally see in the dark isn't a long exposure and our night vision is unfortunately color blind. We'll be doing a video on that topic later so be sure to subscribe if you're not already. :-)

Great video, thanks. I'll be shooting my first auroras in December in Kiruna. Been a dream of mine since I was a kid
