Hi!!! I have just found you and I loved your enthusiasm and generosity by sharing these amazing tips!! I have been a tour guide since 25 years but with a huge break in between ( motherhood) I have returned to the lovely world of tour guiding since last year and now here, where I live ( Qatar),tourism is on its very first steps and therefore there are sooooo many new tourist guides being rapidly trained ( a week and half training ) so I have shared your channel and videos with the whole tour guide community in Qatar and I hope they make a good use of your tips !!! And add many more subscribers Thx again Eve

And - if you don't mind - a very important trick: don't show that you are so very nervous, moving your hands so much. "Keep a relaxed posture" means you are not making your audience dizzy, while trying to follow your hands moving all over. If you cannot stop the movement, find a clipboard. This will make you aware of unwanted extra-movements. You can use some mimic instead... Is much easier for your listeners. It is normal to show a castle, a tower, a balcony you are speaking about, but do NOT move your hands non stop.

Great tip Alex, fiddling is a telltale sign of nervousness. But as long as your hands aren't distracting, I wouldn't worry about using too many descriptive hand motions. Actually, studies have found that using more hand gestures can engage our audience as well as help them better understand what we are saying. Our friend Vanessa Van Edwards over at The Science of People has a great article on the benefits of using hand gestures: www.scienceofpeople.com/2015/08/20-hand-gestures-using/ Thanks for tuning in Alex, Kelsey T

Would have been helpful if you put the links to the videos in the description. The PDF is showing a 404 error now.
