What helped me is refusing to delete my world, even when I’ll take half a year break from it. I’ll get nostalgia over my own world and have continuous progress over time. Having written goals (both short and long term) and not overly judging your creative ideas (something adults do and kids don’t) help a lot as well.

Yes! It grows on you over time and it’s fun to look back on the progress in real time. And goals are definitely a handy thing that’ll really help you out.

I had the same realization several months back and I've had a different outlook on the game ever since. I had to realize that when my physical health was declining, I had to let go of the game. Even when it was hard and I just wanted to play... But once I got to feeling a little better, I came back. I then realized that Minecraft is an expansion of my own imagination. That Minecraft is a blank canvas waiting for a touch of creativity. Minecraft is a sandbox game, and people don't treat it as such resulting in burn out. There's more to it than defeating the ender dragon and killing the wither, it's a part of your journey on a more grander scale. It's your story...
@DeWanCraft

Very well said. All in all, it’s all about exactly what you summed it up as: It’s your story. Write it.

I think what is also important about enjoying Minecraft again is to not immediately kill the Ender Dragon. Because now out days, people on KZitem just immediately kill the Ender Dragon. So I recommend to not do that. I recommend you take your journey rather slow and patient. Sometimes fighting the Ender Dragon is for the middle part of your Journey, not the start. Don't go for the Speed running style, go for the slow paced out style instead.
@DeWanCraft

Agreed, I take the slower approach when it comes to Minecraft. Much more enjoyable.
@MazzyGG

Same, I was never into speedrunning not only cuz I’ve never done that a day in my life and haven’t ever got to end game before but also cuz I get to do more. Plus, I can’t go fast with things anyways since hunger goes down too quickly on bedrock edition (my only version) and having a lot of food take up inventory space would drive me crazy. Great advice!

My big problem is that main game progression for me is so damn fast. I made my world and literally the next day I beat the ender dragon, got an elytra, got full enchanted gear, and 1 day of playing later, it was all netherite and trimmed. And now, with only like 6 days of playing, I have a massive farm for villager trading and a almost completed beacon. I progress so fast and whenever I don’t I feel like I’m missing things and it makes it less enjoyable to not have them, but idk what to do after progressing that far, when I make a base idk how to expand it in a way that I actually feel motivated to, I wanna make my base a large village but idk how to make the houses feel important.

That’s the thing is, if you’re playing solo, just slow down and really soak in the experience with the advice I gave in the video. It feels so much more immersive that way.

I've started a survival world recently and have been enjoying it, to take things slow and watch Hermittcraft Season 10 (which gave me a lot of inspiration). I think a problem a lot of people have is like you said thinking about the future too much and getting disappointed when things don't go there way. People often watch KZitem videos of those 100 hardcore days and think they can do it within a week when those types of videos and build takes arguably a month or so at least. I had this mindset and it really sets you up for failure. But doing things like making a Starter base and stuff while not rushing the game for fully enchanted full netherite is nice.
@DeWanCraft

Exactly right man, you just gotta soak in every moment. No need to rush things 👍

Much better video than all of those "minecraft is boring" "It's not the same" stuff its terrible and it's far far more the people who play the game's fault than the game it's self, take a brake more games it's ok to get bored or be done with a game but them saying it's not fun anymore is because they can find it fan don't know how too and or are done with the game for now, thanks for not being like these people.

Thanks! I do agree that I think there’s a lot more to it than “it’s boring”. Maybe it’s our approach. And in this case, I feel many relate to my situation and it will help them out hopefully.

Trying out modpacks can really help allot, I love playing Tekkit lite due to the many extra things that the mods add to the game. One of the best convenience mods they have is the tree feller mod, it makes it so much less of a hassle to gather lots of wood (you can later on make entirely automated farms, but this one is really nice to make the start less painful). A few weeks ago, I made a nice discovery. Using two different machines (compressors and pulverisers), you can pretty much make an endless sand generator (the compressor turns sand into sandstone and the pulveriser turns sandstone into two blocks of sand). Made a loop where the machines feed into each other, the excess sand from them gets transported via pipes to a storage unit.

For me I just enjoy the game cuz of friends playing with me, before in the beginning I didn’t have a Microsoft account for bedrock edition so I just played with a guest account so I was used to being alone but now since I have friends to play with and and a Microsoft account too, my enjoyment with singleplayer isn’t as fun as it used to be, I just realize how much more fun it is with friends, the only time I play singleplayer now is if it’s in a building test world for my builds that need planning or just building for fun in creative, I haven’t made a survival world in so long not even a singleplayer one, I don’t think I ever will…. Well until the update comes out I’m making a hardcore duo world but that’s multiplayer so yeah different story. Anyways I realized my path on how I play Minecraft and enjoy it, building, chill, slow paced and with friends! Just like the saying goes… “It’s always more fun with friends!”

i think you made a really good video. but personally all of the points you mentioned havent really made the game more enjoyable for me. i feel like the reason i enjoyed the game so much was because i was younger and also because minecraft was completely foreign to me, so what was fun was the journey of discovering this game, but now that ive played this game for 12 years now, nothing is completely new. im not trying to criticize your video, but i just wanted to give my perspective.
