I watch your videos not just as technical totorials, but also as relaxation art. Your visual style, atmosphere of music just force me to like every time. thank you

amazing work man! how about doing a quick one on scattering on to the world creator terrain u exported for this tutorial? content :)) like i have a few methods of doing it, but i feel you would have more of a grasp in how to achieve it cleanly and more precisely.

Just what i was looking for, thanks for your work! One question i still have is - if i want a texture that i put on the plane in c4d to also have a displacement, how should i go about this? Considering that the displacement node is already occupied by the height map 😅 should i use the height map on a deformer displacer instead and create a shader for the plane where i can use my texture displacement or would you recommend a different way?

Yes, one way is to use the displacer deformer as you mentioned, but you will find you hit a maximum 1000x1000 poly on C4D planes which can cap the base resolution (although this can look fine if the displacer material on top is hi-res.) The other way is to use the nodes Add, Subtract, Multiply etc to mix another image and bake the image before displacement node (although you may also notice limitations here with performance). I usually do the mix image method and plug into bump slot (rather than real displacement)

Just started using world creator. No matter how I export the height map it imports as super spikey and pointy and doesn't match what I see in the app. Any idea how to fix?

Is it possible to export the terrain as a mesh?

Nice but i think the blend material is more appropriate to use the heatmaps you exported from WC.

True. I was trying to limit myself to only one map/material on this, but I should totally do a video just for Blend material.

hey, when i am adding the map on octane, the outcome has a very stair stepped look to it, any ideas on how to fix it? thank for the tutorial :)
@RhettMankind

It’s likely due to the resolution or file format. Try again with something either 16 bit or tif or targa format instead of 8bit png and see if that helps

Which map? Displacement? Have you switched the Octane displacement node to drop down menu quality to 8k too?
