I've been stuck in nostalgia and I've been missing the memories of way back when. I consider myself a very alive person however this nostalgic feeling that ive been stuck in for a while seems to be holding me back. I'm not sure if nostalgia is necessarily good or bad. Please do a video on it!

Natalia Hey Natalia! This is a great topic, it's actually something I had hard time with for a while. Whenever I'd see old pictures of good times I'd get really sad and miss those memories, to the point of being a little depressed. I'll definitely make a video on it! Keep an eye out for it!
@JustLIkerapunzel

For whoever might read this later.. Nostalgia is tricky. It is whatever you make out of it. It´s a coping mechanism by our mind that is supposed to trigger us t want to create again such good moments. It is supposed to motivate ourself to change whatever it is in our life that makes us anything less than as happy as we were in the memory. But the danger is like Peakyourmind mentioned, that if you hold onto the past and those memories for too long and allow yourself to keep getting stuck on it, instead of feeling motivated it will trigger depression. So you should aim to actively take it as a base to selfmotivate

Hey dude, I’ve been having difficulty with focusing on the present, because I keep thinking about the past and future. I keep thinking about how the past few years were so good, but last year and so far this year have been tough. I keep trying to make this year like the other good ones, but it’s hard. And I’m not sure if that’s wrong or not. I just really want to be happy and live my life in the present. In the now. Then, I keep thinking about the future, hoping that it’ll be great. Trying to make it better somehow. You could even say trying to plan it. But I feel like that keeps messing with my head, and it’s blocking me from living in the present. If you could reply with any advice I’d be so thankful. Thank you.

Hey Jacob, I feel you. Whenever you're facing tough times, the temptation is always to reminisce on the past. Sometimes we even see moments that were just "ok" as great to escape the feeling in the moment. The best piece of advice I can give you is to start seeing struggle and tough times as positives. Not bullshitting yourself and saying, yay this went wrong too... but Instead of saying, shoot this is the struggle, changing the way you look at it and realizing that your struggles are your strengths. And the reason I say this is because it's in tough times that you get stronger, that you learn, that you grow, that you become more. You can't grow muscle without pushing past your limits. And any movie with no conflict is boring, any song with only major notes sucks, the same is true of life. And when you begin to see the good and the gifts in the struggle, it won't matter what's coming at you, you'll be able to enjoy the moment. Like anything, this is easier said than done, but all it takes is a simple shift in your perspective and training your brain to search for the good in every situation. Much love Jake. Thanks for being a PeakYourMind subscriber and reaching out! Sincerely, feel free to reach out to me anytime.

bro. Great video. but how would your overcome it if you had that fire burning bright, but then something happened over a prolonged period of time that turned it all upside down... for example, if you got sent to jail for 3 years for something you didn't do, and slowly lost your passion for doing these sort of videos as the flame slowly flickered out.. I used to live with the same sort of passion as you, but something over 3 years happened and now the way I view the world and my life story has shifted, and I don't know how to cultivate that sort of passion again.
@juliannebrooks82
8 жыл бұрын
Maybe your new passion is for the things that you've overcome? Maybe you can now go on in life with that much more empathy for people because you know what it's like. Even though you know you are not in the wrong it happened, and maybe it came forward to show you how strong you really are as a person? I'm sorry you have gone through that. I'm glad you are alive though. Even though I don't know you.

Is sad when you want to do some exciting things (like climbing a huge mountain) and your wife/husband doesnt want to...and the worst part is they say "ok we will do it...just wait till we have money to travel there...or wait untill I finish this work...or until I have more time.." and that goes forever....I mean the money issue isnt a problem when I propose to go by bus and is a place near very very cheap but he says "no way I hate to travel by bus I want to go in our car...but first I have to fix the car and pay all the taxes of the car etc etx etc....I feel frustrated...Im really consider some day Im going to just say "forget it Im going alone..or with a girl friend that want to go with me in a bus with a tent" if you wait thing to be perfect they are never gonna happens...u.u hope someone reads my comment.
