Was looking to possibly fill my rifle (spare) relatively thin concave mim steel peep sight this way then drill and tap it for smaller apertures. I'll try it on some scrap 1st, 110mig would probably overheat it or possibly use a screw in it that would leave threads. Never thought about that for body work, usually just zap it with a mig, great idea! Those guns do work great, got mine 40yrs back, wow.

Seems like this is cost effective and great for someone who is not that experienced with tig or mig. 😮 👍

Many smail holes and pits in various fixtures and random places on my '71 240Z that will now NOT repair with bondo thanks to this helpful video. Just what I needed. On to check the power of my solder guns.

Does this work for shaving the holes in an engine bay?

Yep. It should work fine. Make sure you have a good fit with your patch panel and solder it up. Thanks for watching

One more thing - maybe I missed it in the video, but what kind/thickness of metal are you using for those little discs for soldering? Would 0.5 mm steel sheet metal be good? Thanks

I just cut up an old fender. As long as it’s fairly close to the metal you’re repairing it will work

i want to shave the emblem and keyhole on my trunk, i would love to even shave my antenna home off my quarter panel. what do u think would be the largest hole u could patch without using a mig? i think my keyhole should be ok if i use a patch but idk about the antenna

I can’t say for sure but on a larger hole I would countersink the edges and put the patch on top. That way any sanding and grinding will push down without causing the patch to be broke loose. Thanks for watching

It’s an excellent idea. Can you make one video on straightening bent fender bracket where fender bolts on or tell me your preferred method here mine is push in. Thanks.

Has anybody actually filled, primed and painted over this method to see if I comes out smooth? I'm repainting my car and want to take off the door guard strips for smooth doors, which would leave holes that would need to be filled, and I don't want to take off all the inside door panels. Thanks.

Brazing puts a lot of heat on the panel which can cause warping. Here’s a link to my video on that. Thanks for watching . Brazing & Welding with Oxy Acetylene Torch | Tutorial & How-To kzitem.info/news/bejne/spir0JqisGObdKg
