Thank you for this video! My passion for a long time was animal welfare and I would volunteer for various rescue organizations, aviaries, and nature centers during the summer when I was a kid. That led me to go to school for and become a veterinary technician. Then I kinda just ended up in the legal field for the last decade. I'm good at legal work, but it isn't what I'm passionate about. And I've discovered a NEW passion in the last couple years that is leading me to go back to school in my 30's to get into toxicology and public health. Toxicology for the money to have a livable wage, but public health for the passion. I'm good at compiling research and relaying the information in a way anyone can understand, and I enjoy finding information and looking at research, so I'm focused on combining that passion with generally wanting to help people and we'll see how it goes! I like the exercise you have in this video. I wish I'd known about it a year ago before I realized my passion. I'm sure it will be very helpful for others who are still trying to figure out what they're passionate about.

My boss literally told me yesterday that I'm not passionate about this job so he does not see me as a good fit with the department. I've been sitting in that for a long time. Work is work. Sometimes it can be fun but mostly it's not going to be in my mind and that's OK. Or at least I thought it was before yesterday.

It’s absolutely OK for work to simply be work. Not everyone must be passionate about their jobs and that’s absolutely OK. Thanks for sharing your story.
