I have job exp, my profile and everything looks good but the only problem is i have to answer No i don't have work pass and i need one. i think this is the only reason i am not getting any sort of response p.s i am also applying from my home country but during these time almost every one is conducting online interviews so i don't think that could be the reason, do let me know what you think about it ?

@@Khaneverse Sorry I missed this comment. It has gotten even harder to find a job as a foreigner in Singapore given the pandemic and the minimum salary increases of the EP and S passes. Even prior to the pandemic, I know a few people who took more than one year to find a job. Singapore is a really small country with a limited number of jobs, and I know Singaporeans and foreigners who are struggling to find a job right now. Times are tough. I hope you will find a job in Singapore soon!

Dear Mam, how are you? I hope you are fine and everything is going well. I'm from Bangladesh and my country of citizenship is Bangladesh, I am planning to move to Singapore with employment pass and IPA as a construction project engineer/site engineer. Now I'm doing my masters in earthquake engineering which will be completed this year hopefully, I have learned that employer will apply for EP after getting job offer from a specific company, I want to know that before application of EP and IPA approval issue, will I have to do any payment to the company because of EP application issues or job offer processing issue, I'm very much confused about that . According to the MOM website, there is a fee that needs to be paid when applying for EP, and it says it's $105 for each application. And then there is another fee of $225 for the issuance of each EP. will I have to pay as a candidate before application for EP and IPA or will the company pay these itself?
@SimplyJean

The employer will cover the EP application and issuance costs. Good luck!

Hi Jean, thanks for the useful video. I’d love to learn more about your work permit application experience (like what to expect after you get accepted by the company? Were you asked to fill up any application form?) and how long it took to process your work permit?
@SimplyJean

Hi Anna. This largely depends on your current status in Singapore (what type of pass you're holding). If you're on a social visit pass (tourist pass), you can take a self assessment test to see which pass(s) you qualify for. Details are in the description box. If you are looking to get an EP (employment pass), once you get a job offer and sign the contract with your new employer, you will be asked to provide your passport details and educational certificates. Depending on the country you are from, you may need to provide additional details. After that, your employer will apply for the EP for you. Processing time varies case by case and usually takes less than 3 weeks. If your application is approved, your employer will send you a copy of the in-principle approval letter, which will list further actions you need to take (before/after you come to Singapore). Once you have the in-principle approval letter and once you are in Singapore, your employer will submit documents to get your EP issued. You must have a residential address in Singapore and it must meet the housing requirements. You may be asked to provide other documents as well. Processing time for this step is immediate. If successful, your employer will give you a notification letter that allows you to start working in Singapore while waiting to receive your pass. Hope this helps. For more info, visit the Ministry of Manpower website listed in the description box. Good luck!

@SimplyJean

Gokul Devadiga Thank you for watching. There aren't any particular agencies I would recommend, but I would go with an agency that doesn't ask you to pay any fees yourself. You can google "top recruitment agencies in Singapore" and see which agency is a fit for you according to what type of company you want to work in and the industry you want to work in. You can also try to contact/email one of the recruiters at an agency to see what their process is like. Good luck! :)

Hi Angel. Sorry I missed this comment. I specified my country of citizenship on my resume. Job searching as a foreigner in Singapore is not an easy process, so keep trying! If you haven't done so, I would recommend you to come up with a list of 10-15 companies you really want to work for in Singapore. I started my job search by looking through countless job postings on companies' websites (companies I was really interested in), and I was able to get some interviews. Keep applying!

Thank you for asking. It's hard to say because I started looking for jobs before I moved to Singapore to see what the work culture is like. After I started applying earnestly, I think it took a few months to land a job. I can't remember the exact amount of time, but it was definitely less than three months. It is harder nowadays because of the pandemic, so if you are searching for jobs, take note to allow for more time to job search. Thanks!

fil Thank you for your comment! Yes I am although I’m not too sure about the legal admin field. I would recommend your partner to use several methods for job application (apply on company websites, use job portals like indeed.com and jobstreet, and apply to jobs relevant to his background on the agency websites). It is not an easy process, but it is not impossible! It may take a lot of effort and patience. It can often take more than a few months to land a job especially if you are a foreigner. I didn’t get responses from many companies I applied to initially, but for those that did reply to me, I tried to learn as much as possible about the Singapore work culture and what is expected from an ideal candidate in order to improve my chances of landing a job. Has he been able to contact any recruiters? I reached out (via email) to some recruiters and was able to get some insight about the job processes here. Thanks!

@@bpdb4rb13fhumphreys3 I'm not sure if there's an agency geared towards expats, but I would recommend focusing on multinational corporations because they are more likely to hire foreigners. Singapore's work culture is extremely competitive. There is a foreign workers' quota, so a limited number of foreign talent can be hired depending on the industry the company is in. Your partner may also qualify for the EP (employment pass), which isn't subject to the foreign workers' quota, but there are strict requirements for getting a EP. Applicants are reviewed on a case by case basis. Yes, keep applying! Indeed and LinkedIn are great for job searching. All the best!

There is a foreign worker quota, so companies in Singapore can hire only a limited number of foreign talent. Thank you for sharing your experience. You do not need a work pass prior to landing a job in Singapore. Once you get a job offer, your employer will apply for the work pass for you. If you are referring to the jobs that say "only Singaporeans need apply", I skipped over them since those companies are unlikely to hire foreigners.
