Luxottica owns all of the big 3 brands! They bought Ray-Ban from Bausch & Lomb like 20-30 years ago and moved most MFG to Italy, and now it’s a mix of Italian & Chinese MFG. As for Oakley which they bought about 10 years ago most plastic frames are still made in USA, but all metal and specialty stuff is made in China. Costar Del Mar is the most recent acquisition (A Merger of Luxottica & Essilor - (Essilor was French)) never Made anything in the USA. They Assembled imported parts into finished products, but they had really good lens engineering & that was their thing.

AS I mentioned previously Ray-Ban were Made in AZ, USA until Luxottica bought them about 20-30 years ago! They were part of Bauch & Lomb which is American. By the way Luxottica is based in Italy and not France. Some plastic Oakley’s are still Made in USA like in tech past, and some are Assembled in USA. Just look at the frames.

To clarify something about Oakley: their military spec sunglasses are made in the USA, like the M frame, but most of their frames are made in china and assembled in the USA, therefore they will have a “assembled in USA” red tag on the frames, like the flak 2.0, vintage ray bans are fully made in the USA, I have a pair of B&l aviators and they are built like a tank
