I love fishing there over the years. I haven't fish there and about ten years. But it was the place I learned how to really fish. Fishing all the dams all over the best fishing in my life. Catching every species ran like a is supposed to. And I've fish some of every we're. 😮

Nice looking eyes... Alot if the walleyes we get have those growths on them when we get them in winter.. I always assumed it was something to do with the cold water

I'm from around oil city and I always wanted to try some winter walleye fishing. I still got a few dozen riffle runners I got to use up. But I was maybe thinking I could use some swim baits If the minnows didn't work.

Hello mellowpuddle, I'm not sure on the swim baits. In my opinion, the winter walleye are very lethargic and respond to slow presentation. Working Jigs tipped with Berkley Gulp minnow (or a live minnow if you can keep it on, bottom bouncing with rock seems to be hard with a live minnow) has usually worked for me. Thanks for watching!!

@@stepoutdoors1161 maybe use a floating jig head with a slip weight about a foot ahead of it?

Hello and thanks for watching Adam Smith! Yes I have caught a few in that stretch while I was fishing for walleye or bass. I don’t know much about musky fishing but sure would like to try it some day. Have a great day👍

still haven't had a chance to fish up in that area, it looks really nice up there, I've been stuck fishing down south in the Allegheny, December is not a great time to try new areas that I'm unfamiliar with, I will no doubt give it a go when it gets warmer. nice walleye. btw, what time of day was this?

Hello Edge Obsessed. We fished from about 11 to 4pm. I’ve never fished from Brady’s Bend south always wanted to though seems like the walleye numbers are better that way in winter months.

Great video! How are you fishing the bucktails? Dragging on the bottom or popping off the bottom? What part of the Allegheny are you in? Stay well.

Hi Ritt Smith, It really depends on the river current. If I am in real slow water then most of the time I'm slowly dragging bottom. If there is a little current I try bouncing off the bottom mainly to keep from getting snagged on rocks. Winter walleye tend to be in slower water adjacent to current. In the slower water they don't have to use as much energy to catch any prey which comes out of the water current. I hope that helps some. Thanks for watching!

Best fishing stretch? That’s hard to answer, it’s all good. Some stretches are better than others on certain days but that’s fishing lol. I would have to say some of my better days have been at Franklin/French creek area.

@deebo2808 thanks for watching! I have to respectfully disagree some though, first part of the video we went over the various baits we used, jig colors and what we tipped them with…next time we will try and give more insight on the presentation for you. Have a great day.
