Thanks. Really helpful. I also will be removing and putting the cassette back myself and don’t have a torque wrench too. How do you know when it is tight enough, so tou don’t overtighten?

I usually just tighten to the point where it's tight fitting not moving, and then just do an extra 1/4" - 1/2" turn

Shimano says you also need a 1mm shim. Did you need one? Thanks. Rick

Yes I came here after I did everything in the video and definitely had a clunk in the cassette. Adding the 1 mm spacer too did the trick. Score one for the comment section!

I switch from 10s wheel to 11s, using 1.85mm spacer it's fit but I need to loosen RD and the tighten process kind a scary not sure it's properly tighten or not. I'm I doing it right?

Thank you for posting. So does it matter which side is going?

The washer is actually directional, with one side that had indentations that kind matches the cassette backing if I remember correctly.

For 9 speed cassette which spacer (s) is required?
@TheGizmoGarage

The 11-speed wheels can be retro-fitted for 9 and 10-speed, and they come with a 1.85 mm spacer to account for the extra slack

some web said it also needs a 1mm spacer?how come?

Really depends on the cassette and hub setup, use whichever that's thin enough and doesn't cause the cassette to have free movement when fully tightened.

@@TheGizmoGarage What I want to ask is, can the missing pieces like the 1.85mm piece be attached to the back?

@@ahmetaknc4010 Yes, if you tighten the cap and there is no free play, it's fine to reuse the plastic spacer.
