The fully adjustable shoulder straps should be loosened off initially, then put the back protector on as you would a backpack. Secure the waistband and use the elasticated cinches on each side to pull it in nice and snug to support your lumbar region and ensure it moves with you when you're wearing it. Then tighten up the shoulder straps, but not too much, the waistband does most of the heavy lifting here !
Ensure the top of the back protector sits on or just below you C7 vertebrae (look down and feel for the "knobble" that protrudes from your lower neck at the back) this will ensure it is comfortable and doesn't jab you in the back of your neck when your tucked up on the bike or clip the back of your helmet when you turn your head.
The Back protector will soften and mould to your body after a few minutes and you won't even know you're wearing it.
