your video was very helpful for replacing the injectors. thanks. for anyone doing injectors follow this video, then disconnect the hose from the fuel rail, theres not much fuel in there use a rag to prevent fuel from spilling. then proceed w/ disconnecting the injector harnesses (might need a pick to help w/ clips) and remove the bolts holding down the fuel rail. might have to pull it a little hard but dont get crazy. be sure to remove any o-rings that fell in the holes. then u just remove the clips and pull the old ones out/reinstall new ones. coat o-rings w/ motor oil. and reinstall

Yeah, cylinder one of course! I swapped all of them out on my 3.0 at 100kmi. Pulling the intake isn't bad at all. It will be interesting to see how those aftermarket coils hold up. I've heard that Fords only like Ford parts but who knows. Nice job as always, and thanks!

Another curious question ❓....why you only replace just the coil and not the spark plugs?

This was good time to get fresh spark plugs as well. It was bad call going wtih Amazon coils. Their are all over the place with reliability. Coils are best OEM.

My Ford explorer 2016 cylinder #4 is dead they recommend a new engine for 12K Please give me and advise is this a good option or is there anything else I should try. My warranty of course doesn’t cover this expensive repair

First thing I would do is get a second opinion or diagnosis. Perform a compression test , rule out spark plugs , coil packs etc. Autozone has a compression tester loaner tool . 12k is outrageous , if it does determine the engine is bad. These run used on ebay for around 2k or less for a good used engine with low miles. Worse case I would buy an engine and pay someone to install. You can find mobile mechanics that are very skilled and could do the work much cheaper. I would reccomend a mobile mechanic to run some diagnostic as well. Okay , the last thing I will say is that fixing this is well worth it . The price of these suv has went up a lot and they are sought after. Either route you take , I would suggest finding my own low miled engine or with the help of another shop or mechanic and pay them for the install. An install for labor in my area would run around 800 but I am sure this varies. I believe you can get this fixed for a fraction of the cost even if it is determined to be a bad engine. Thank you for the question and hope this helps.

Thumbs up. Very detailed. I have a similar car. I don't have a code but I feel little hesitation/jerk when taking off from a stop. Think I need to clean the fuel injectors? Or maybe I will just a do a tune up and replace all the coils. I Saved your video for reference.

Wondering if you have a idea and might be able to help my I have 2013 for explorer and my cylinder 1 had oil on the threads of that spark plug but none others I changed spark plugs and didn’t change I tried a new coil pack and it did nothing I even moved the coil pack that was on no 1 cylinder to no 5 cylinder and it’s doing fine on there but cylinder 1 is acting up it’s almost like cutting out when you go between 20 to 30 mph and feels like it’s not getting the right air to fuel ratio to go but it works after going over 40 mph and it seems like if it’s doing it when your pressing the gas pedal down but if you let off the gas at 30mph it goes smooth it’s like it’s blowing fuel in but not burning it and there’s no codes on the car it ideals fine and everything if you can help it would be appreciated

I would change all the coil packs. I would start there and see what happens. I have seen other cars doing the same , sometimes they won't throw a code. Oil in the spark plug well means the tube seals are failing. Hope this helps. coil packs amzn.to/3QWMzPF valve cover gasket w tube seals amzn.to/3QQMvB1

I have a 2015 ford explorer. It keeps popping up coil pack 6. I changed all 6 of them and put in new spark plugs. But it still says number 6. I'm not sure what to do. Would you have any idea what I could do?
@s33therfan
2 жыл бұрын
Make sure the plug connector is good , check for voltage . A missfire could also indicate an engine problem if swapping coil packs etc had no affect. Also check the compression on that cylinder. Thanks for watching.

About the only thing you can do is have someone run live data on a scan tool while driving it. It could be a million things , Different car but similar , I had to rule out everything and it finally traced back tp a bad pcm. Best of luck and keep us updated on what you find , it may help others. Thanks for the feedback.
