its crazy that some fans dont have the re-lubricating port.. i cant come up with any reason why they wouldnt have it.. im sure the insides of case fans are more or less the same so its not like its because it would ruin the fan or something. CPU and GPU fans are different but all case fans should have those rubber caps behind it for relubrication but i suppose then manufacturing that fan would be more expensive for the company etc.

Mine lasted a good 8-10 months before it started again, oiled it up again and it lasted another 6 months. I would not recommend it, though I haven't tried it myself. The issue I have with WD-40 is that, in my experience, it's not the best lubricant; it's a good sealant/protectant for metal, but whenever I apply the stuff to anything else that squeaks (my office chair, for example), the squeaking comes back within a matter of days at times.

3 months old but I’ll just say that WD is water displacer it cleans it out and blows away all the moisture and oil instead of lubricating it well to some degree it does lube it but it’s very quick to stop working so it will work for bit and get a lot worse in the end. If you go on a bike Channel you will see a lot of people make mistake of using WD on bike chains to lube it but instead it does the opposite and cleans everything off as that’s what it’s supposed to do.
