Hi There, I would check that the cradle/basket hasn't got any limescale or debris on it which will create a barrier between the washer and cradle allowing the water to pass through therefore not allowing the washer to seat properly. Also I would check that the water level is not too high as this can give you the same reading, if so you can adjust the screw that is attached to the fill valve, lastly your flush valve could be faulty. All the best.

Hi there, What I would advise is to check the serial number, you can find this on the inside of the cistern lid or the flush valve itself. I purchased this from www.fixthebog.uk/ideal-standard-armitage-shanks-dual-flush-valve-diaphragm-seal-and-clip-sv01967/ All the best Mustafa

The old washer didn't look too bad, I replaced with a new washer still leak, is there another washer at the base connecting to the pan ?

Hi there, Yes there is a rubber seal that is between the pan and the cistern, I would only change that as a last resort as it's a bigger job. What I would advise first is to check that your fill valve is set at the correct level, if its faulty or set too high this will give you the same reading. It's also possible that your actual mechanism in the flush valve is faulty which will give the same reading. And also if you have any grit or have used a cistern block in the cistern this will not seal the rubber washer, and therefore not close. I would check where the rubber seal sits on the basket that there are no marks or gouges.

The main problem of the running toilet is the carbonates of water deposit in the flapper gasket, it is straightforward, there is no need to change the flapper gasket, clean the carbonate deposits on the flapper's gasket, and at the edges of the round pipe where this gasket rest, after cleaning the gasket and pipe seating just lubricate it with machine oil so the water carbonates not stick again.
