Coolant seals..blah blah..rotaries dont have inherent problems with cooling or coolant seals.Any cars engine can have premature failure due to poor maintenance/ modifications or fitting inferior parts.Your car had a slipping pulley, shit radiator with a cheap core and as commented many times by me, what looks like a bar and plate intercooler. The most inefficient for flow due to it square edged core.P.S. have you checked your expensive radiator for decent earthing and test your coolant for electrolysis?..maybe run a sacrificial anode?.You wouldnt want electrolysis to eat your radiator away in 6 months..

I’ve been enjoying the RX7 content you’ve been putting up. The wrap looks amazing. I’m a Qldr myself. I must ask though, do you get much attention from the boys in blue when you drive the RX7 for say compared to the R33 or is one worse than the other? Any way. Keep up the great work.

glad you fixed your issue! my 13b wants to overheat whenever i cruise pass 80 mph, other than that it runs perfectly fine, ive done most of the mods you mentioned besides a vmount! hopefully it works ^_^

rotaries exhaust gases burn hotter than piston engines, i would try bigger headers to get the exhaust gases out asap. those turbos and the bridge makes a LOT of heat. 2 oil coolers would be good too.

Talking temps, the rx8 standard thermostat opens at 86°c the the system is pressurised to deal with coolant running over 100c if your over 110°c then your getting into danger zone and 116°c + and you'll be lucky not to do any damage

Great video as always Zac, but for my knowledge of rotors, they are generally a hot running engine! They produce a huge amount of heat due to the inefficiencies of the design, and I say that as lover and owner! Cheers for sharing mate!

This is why I chose to buy NA series 4 instead. I had a turbo before when they were dirt cheap, but it was leaking oil and didn’t run very well due to possible vaccum leaks. Even with a Koyo Rad which cost me $800, heat is still a small issue on hot day in traffics with/without AC on. Still better than stock Rad though. And if you are cheap, don’t own a rotary.
